Small indie game Mixtape's has been able to pay for the song licences in perpetuity.

That's probably a few million dollars there.

"Indie" seems to have become based on the studio size in the modern lexicon, especially due to how many "Indie kickstarters" got poached by Epic paying them a million dollars.

Every time I see a video from the 1930s/40s, I feel like, "Damn, I was born in the wrong generation. I'd rather die on a shitfield somewhere by the Volga river for Missa Hitla."
 
My thoughts:
1. The game developers are immature. Most of the things that they do are because they’re still in a teenage mindset
2. Reviewers have every reason to astroturf for this, that’s just how propaganda works.
3. Nothing that’s happening here is good and we can’t directly prevent it or retroactively fix it by saying anything about the reviewers.

The best that can be done here is to grab some laughs and act on what we can. I’d like for there to be a strong kiwifarms gamedev team, but until then it’s kind of a failing that it’s not happened yet.
