He will still be remembered for his LHW legacy. And honestly, he looked pretty great at heavyweight from what little we saw in the octagon. I kind of think this is a fake retirement and he will come back to beat Aspinall at the end of the year after a quick steroid cycle while he's out of the testing pool. But either way it's ridiculous to throw away the legacy of a guy that fought in pre UFC 100 events for not being active post UFC 300.

The heavyweight situation is an obvious Dana diasasterclass but imo Lw flys under the radar as an underrated shitshow. Having Oliviera gatekeep Dariush's titleshot was kinda dumb but understandable, calling Volk on a week's notice instead of either A. already marking him as the backup or B. Just using the fucking backup was some WWE tier nonsense and an exercise in shit planning. Then in an effort to promote Sean and because Dana doesn't know how to plan in advance they convince Gaejthe to sell his titleshot for a mickey mouse belt, and have the #1 contender fight on the same day so Islam defends against a Dustin coming off one win. Then, instead of simply rebooking Arman-Islam Dana's butthurt ass decides to just shop around for contenders even though thanks to his shenanigans the only other fighter is Charles with decrepit retard Chandler ( who missed 3 yrs of his hgh induced pseudo-prime waiting on a fight Dana couldn't make) as his latest win.

We could have had at least two more Lw titlefights in since 2023, and that's not even getting into the ranking roaches like Chandler and Bsd or how there's no feasible path to being ranked at Lw due to the huge roster and the fact that the top 10 fight once a year. Plus, he's fucking up featherweight now trying to give that idiot Yair another titleshot so he has a fighter to shill to Mexico.

In my mind Jon Jones legacy is that presser where he was talking shit to DC who was telling him that he was a classless piece of trash and it was a pity that people didn't know what a shithead he actually was once he dropped his act.

Thought I'd share this for a couple reasons, partly because Teppu is probably my favorite manga and I want to show it to more people who have the knowledge to appreciate it, but also because it's just a good video and I think it does a better job than I ever could of explaining the appeal of combat sports to the uninitiated.

I don’t know how I honestly feel about it. I think it’s extremely ugly and not befitting of a champion. Where is the gold? The prestige? I also freely admit that this is a belt that I would have made in the Smackdown versus Raw games as a teenager if given the opportunity. It’s the nWo Wolfpack UFC BJJ World Television Title… and I kind of like how bad it is.

Ben Askren is allegedly mildly responsive and now on a list to receive a lung. Again, I don’t know much about medical stuff, but I assume lungs are up there on the list of things that have an extremely long wait.

Guarantee its because Yair is turning it down. The man is such a fucking primadonna with matchmaking. I think it was after he lost to Edgar that he turned down 2-3 fights against Zabit and pissed the UFC off enough that they cut him - he quickly grovelled and they let him back in. After that he found all other ways of avoiding that fight - supposed injury, failing the location test for USADA (the only man to do so in the UFC - USADA would have a 3 strikes rule where the show up at the location you are meant to be at - if you aren't there, its strike 1 of 3 - come back later. He managed to do it 3 times in a row and not show up).

That sucks. On one hand it'll be a banger, but I just wish we didn't have to see either of them lose. Yet a another example of how shit matchmaking has been this year.

We could have had:
>Volk vs Movsar
>Diego vs Yair
>Ortega vs Aljo
>Jean vs Allen.

The matchups were so obvious. It genuinely baffles me how allergic the UFC is to giving fans what they want. It doesn't even make sense from a business perspective because no one is hyped for what we got, these guys are fucking retards.

Anyways, I predict a Jean Silva masterclass, but I would not ever count Diego out. It'll be really sad seeing him lose two in a row, though.
