God, I love hearing about the stupid porn games. Custer's Revenge, Beat em and Eat em, Bachelor(ette) Party, Cathouse Blues, Burning Desire, Gigolo, Knight on the Town, Philly Flasher. There are a few others. Half of them are sex-swapped versions of the other.

It's a step in the right direction but when I think "comeback" I think of something like Nintendo Switch, going from your lowest point to your highest.

It doesn't have to be that drastic though, even Konami I'd say is making a comeback currently. There was a period when they put out basically only Yu-Gi-Oh, sports, and miscellaneous crap, right after MGSV (which was already a pretty bad MGS, decent as a game but just bad by MGS standards). Starting with the MGS3 remake things are looking up, if it's uncensored. Unfortunately SH2 is Sweet Baby infested crap but "Silent Hill f" is something I have hopes for.

The last console Atari put out was the VCS 800 in 2021 . That thing is technically still around ( hasn't been discontinued yet ) but it hasn't even sold 100k units.

Atari hasn't been in the big leagues since the early 90s with the Lynx ( last Atari console that sold in the millions, 2 million to be exact). They are a big player in the niche retro game market but have next to no presence in the Triple A space .

Anyone tried Solaris out? Pretty amazing that a game like that could be made for the 2600.

When I got my VCS Jr. in 1986 ("Under fifty bucks!") for Christmas of 86, Solaris was one of the first games I bought. It was great. The programmer, Doug Neubauer, I believe, had been working on this game on and off for years. I'm sure there is still an interview done with him a couple of decades ago where he talks about this game, floating around on the net somewhere.

I was a massive Atari fanboy from the early 80s to about the early 2000s. I collected the fan made newsletters, interview documentaries (Stella at 20) and all that shit, but finally at some point I reached my saturation point. I play the old VCS games once in a blue moon. I can't play most of them for more than 5-10 minutes at a time anymore though, lol. As for this new Atari venture... good luck, and I don't give a shit, lol.

Someone put out a zip of all the homebrew that got nuked from the Atari Age store.

Also I play 2600 games on a 7800, because I'm a hipster doofus. (I don't even know if 7800s have difficulty switches to fuck with 2600 games.)
