Modern existence is almost wholly inferior

no kidding
Have a look at them:

Sometimes when I'm out and see someone a bit scraggly I wonder if they're on Reddit. Earlier I saw a greasy long haired guy w a beta face wearing a mask outside (even with a mask you could see he had a potato face). The only one in the entire town with a mask at all. I bet he's on Reddit. Would say on the Chans but they wouldn't be masked.

We gonna act like 90% of humans that have ever lived were all fufilled? Most people never became explorers/leaders/thinkers etc. They were just people with a way of living, hoping the next day will be the same as their today. Most humans were peasants and there isn't anything wrong with that. It's just the way it is.

The best and worst of humanity is displayed by a few, the rest are just there to witness.

So do something or stop complaining about how not everyone is special.

I was alive in the 90s because I am old. I genuinely enjoyed that decade. It was just tech forward enough to not feel creepy (60s and 70s have a WEIRD Beatles transitional-state vibe), but not yet advanced enough to be globalized troon aspie dogshit.

No cope I think it might genuinely be the highlight of human history. If you go TOO far back it's like weird religious people sacrificing you or extreme poverty or shit medicinal progress and no aircon etc.

90s is the pinnacle of human tech before it turned into Frankenstein's monster. 2005 sort of era was good too, you were still pretty segregated, with maybe MSN. It's VERY abnormal for your daily social circle to be like, 4 billion people (however many non-oonga boongas exist right now).

I agree with what your saying, but its just that majority of people have always been unremarkable, their brain mush. They do only as they are told and like thing they are told to like.

There is a different topic talking about the industrial revolution and its consequences, however the vast majority of humans in all pf history only had their needs met and that was it. I dont expect people to read or write if they don't need to the same way peasants didn't learn to do things outside of what was needed for survival.

This. Most of your simple common folk were, well...simple. Things may have been very difficult but they and their families really just worried about getting by, and they did what they had too. Even at the turn of the 20th century with the telegraph and the beginnings of radio and the telephone, the world was still pretty slow.

And for sure, your average normies werent discussing Voltaire or Thoreau as they tilled the field or clocked out after a 12 hour shift at the fatal injury factory.

Yes. This is said better than the way i tried to put it.

Majority of humankind has just sat around till they died, and thats honestly okay. You tend to only accomplish great/terrible things when you risk your neck, which is antithetical to survival which is why most people just do enough for their needs and thats it. Most boomers who complain about kids being on their phones all day did nothing but watch tv all day. I just see it as being human rather than some kind of defect with a generation.

They did watch TV all day, the people aren't different the tech is. In the year 3000 humans might literally never move at ALL. We might all live in a Matrix like "perfect reality", and people will only ever "go to the surface" if there's a problem with our feeding tubes or medication tubes, or whatever else.

A lot of future predictions historically haven't been accurate because they didn't understand the human mind. The human mind is pulled towards becoming sloths, flying cars won't be a thing unless they help reach slothdom... AI autopilot cars, that's more like it... It's a major flaw in our mind, evolved in because being a sloth means less calories burned = no starvation.

Matrix future is probable tbh. Maybe we already did that and forgot and we'll become a matrix inside a matrix... Or maybe we already are 50 matrixes deep now. Way up on the surface we're all Neuralink'd, being cared for by AI. Cheap digital imitations happening down here to reflect the surface.

I would argue that there was one big difference, a larger chunk of the population had more freedom, than what exists today. The state did not have the wealth or the technology to control & dictate what happened outside the castle walls. So even if the nobelmen were banging peasants on their wedding night, the vast majority of the populace were outside that control and even if they were within the realm, the nobelmen would have no way to know the peasant hotties were about to get hitched if they decided to keep it a secret. Today even third world countries can outsource their surveillance to corporations and target oppression on those pushing the limits, in turn, that encourages niggercattle to color inside the lines
Uncle Ted said:
The argument that “people now have more freedom than ever” is based on the fact that we are allowed to do almost anything we please as long as it has no practical consequences. See ISAIF, §72. Where our actions have practical consequences that may be of concern to the system (and few important practical consequences are not of concern to the system), our behavior, generally speaking, is closely regulated. Examples: We can believe in any religion we like, have sex with any consenting adult partner, take a plane to China or Timbuktu, have the shape of our nose changed, choose any from a huge variety of books, movies, musical recordings, etc., etc., etc. But these choices normally have no important practical consequences. Moreover, they do not require any serious effort on our part. We don’t change the shape of our own nose, we pay a surgeon to do it for us. We don’t go to China or Timbuktu under our own power, we pay someone to fly us there. On the other hand, within our own home city we can’t go from point A to point B without our movement being controlled by traffic regulations, we can’t buy a firearm without undergoing a background check, we can’t change jobs without having our background scrutinized by prospective employers, most people’s jobs require them to work according to rules, procedures, and schedules prescribed by their employers, we can’t start a business without getting licenses and permits, observing numerous regulations, and so forth.

Hey man. Unplug. Just don't participate. Don't consume IP, don't use social media. You don't need anything from anyone -- you've got all you need.

We do not *need* to be constantly entertained or consuming media. Indulge your own creative outlets. Go back to basics. Once you're there, you will find interests you have previously overlooked.

Clean your apartment, cook yourself a meal. Let shit outside burn itself down, it doesn't matter.

I'm like 4 beers in and feeling feels, so I'll add this. I can read a book, listen to a song, or drive over a bridge that was made 100,200 years ago, and it hits strong and clear, or in the case of the bridge, is still standing today. If you can create or contribute to one thing like that, you have done good.

Do you think Gen Z can build a bridge that will last until even 2100? I've seen no evidence of any form of talent in them. They're conditioned to only consoom, not to produce... The powers that be dictate what we should consoom rather than talented individuals.

"Remember this movie from years ago that made tonnes of money in Box Office? Yeah let's just make the same film, but with a nig tranny playing the part of William Wallace instead."

In as recent as the early millennium, things were made for passion AND profit simultaneously. People wanted money but also cared about what they put out. Now those people are dying or retired and are replaced by empty suits and line graphs. Corporate says making a movie with a nig tranny cast as the Virgin Mary would make us $0.50 more profit, let's do it! It sucks badly.

It's so shit that it might get better rather than worse. We are close to the rock bottom point where normal people even realize how utterly creatively bankrupt and talentless everything in existence is. Apparently there's a revival of maximalism, it's like minimalism but the opposite. A sign that the emerging people are suffocated by the bland lifeless suit-controlled world of present, and are lashing out with displays of passion.

The purpose of modernism is to make you not believe in yourself.

We’re apparently just evolved monkeys composed of bumping atoms thrown into an meaningless existence, so we have to cope with everything being absurd and making one’s own meaning.

But the truth is that meaning exists, but it exists in something Higher than oneself. And by placing your faith in that Truth, you can accomplish feats more daring than what a modern could even imagine.

You forget slavery, penal colonies, indentured servitude, debtor's prisons surfdom, etc.

People don't know how to use their freedom. There's this post circulating about a zoomer having an ephiphany that she is an independent adult and therefore can take herself to the zoo if she wanted. They don't know how to be individuals.

I personally enjoy not dying in childbirth at age 16 or being shoved in asylum and left to rot in early childhood.

Previous time periods were really only good for rich straight dudes, shit was godawful for everyone else.

The best place for women in pre-modern Europe was Sparta. Nobody else came close.

The Spartans apparently understood where future hoplites come from and treated their women with respect and gave them considerable rights. Still wasn't at today's level but compared to the other Greek cultures or the Romans they were miles ahead.

If you were born before the 00s you are from a different world that already died and won't come back. There will not be a golden age again, everything you valued already peaked. People born after the 2000s don't even understand what you are talking about and never could, they are already fully assimilated into a new mindset and system from birth. For you there was a transition, but to them there is only whats normal.

Personally i see no path of self actualization thats worthwhile within the new paradigm for someone my age. Becoming isolated and weird seems preferable. Find niches with equally butthurt oldfags and gatekeep the fuck out of zoomers
