Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

I was tired of seeing pop-ups back in the 90s. And we lived in a pop-up free world for a while. But now every single company website has tons of them. "Accept cookies," "join our newsletter," "chat now," "here's a discount" etc. I can't stand this shit
It was so much easier when all that shit was Flash-based. You could just turn off Flash and shit would've worked still, because websites were designed with fallbacks without Flash.

If it's a site you otherwise don't care about, disable Java and those go away.

i hate how onlyfans and sites like them have ruined free amateur porn. now im not saying you should look at porn, but i remember back in the day women would freely post tons of explicit pics and videos of themselves for free, now most of them have a 10 -15 dollar onlyfans where they post a few pics but then want you to pay per view their videos. god i hate only fans.

Speaking of sites obviously made for mobile, one trend I notice slowly picking up is how AWFUL using the desktop version of a site is compared to mobile. One bank I use is exactly that. The desktop version is broken with constant errors, and LOVES to log out randomly. A huge pain to navigate or anything banking related, since the design is so awful. Meanwhile, the mobile version is the exact opposite. I seriously hope this isn't the future for the web.
A lot of mobile sites suck on mobile too and I don't see this trend reversing.

I know I've already complained about comment censoring on Youtube before, but looking back on the days where I can openly say nigger and faggot and call someone retarded for what they posted without that gayass disclaimer telling me to "be nice and civil" will be moments I will greatly cherish.

I don't like how Twitter made it so if one scrolls far enough down, it blocks the view with a popup effectively saying you have to sign up to see more. That's paysite BS.

(I don't want to hop on the "social media" bandwagon.)
On actual twitter, click "log-in" then press the X to close that window and you're fine.

Do ads show up in YT videos playing through other sites if one doesn't have an adblocker?

I can only saw what I've observed.
What are typical American-targeted YT ads like anyway?

I imagine they feel "wokey" like Target ads. Like no white men unless they're portrayed as idiots, almost no white people at all...
