Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Phone number verification for everything. I do miss when you could just log in with email and using your memory or the hidden place you kept your passwords.
I hate having to give my phone number to everything just to get some stupid code to log in then they prompt me to change my password anyway, even if it was right as is. Don't even think about removing your number afterwards because the process will repeat and more hassle will ensue. Same goes for account creation, too.

They tend to write like that because so much of their training data is from pajeets, who as you have probably noticed, if you spend enough time listening to them, talk exactly like that all the time.
Pajeet's Law: Any sufficiently retarded street shitter is indistinguishable from AI.

God I fucking hate when sites do this. Can’t use our shit until you give us a number to flood with spam calls. I tried looking up burner numbers but it seems developers have caught on.

Edit: Another thing I hate is when I download something but I have to log into it to use it. Downloaded a free synth yesterday, only to find out I need to create an account to use it. This serves no purpose in the grand scheme of things.

Ai generated blog trash is the worst. Every time I look for an answer for some obscure thing I need to troubleshoot I come accross pages of pajeets and their ai slop
Is there some kind of plugin that can be implemented to keep these websites from appearing in my feed? Or perhaps some kind of keyword? I’ve been trying my damndest to figure out ways to remove AI art and articles from my feed but so far my attempts have been completely futile.

Here's something that routinely bugs me. The way that things move around just as I'm clicking on them due to a page still loading.

Once upon a time, a web-page would load more or less all at once. Sometimes you'd see a space where the image would go and it would progressively fill with the GIF or JPEG as the image downloaded. The layout was steady though.

Now a page appears to load, I go to click on some link or button and just as I do so the entire page shifts because some frame or content that was lagging behind has just appeared and I end up clicking something else. Sounds minor but it happens to be multiple times a week and it is super-annoying.

EVERYTHING MUST BE REACTIVE, NO STATIC, ONLY REACTIVE, DYNAMIC, ONE FAMEWORK FOR EVERY SCREEN, BOOTSTRAP, REACT, ALL MUST BE CONSTANTLY CHANGING.

It fucking sucks, I blame shitty frameworks that everyone uses in the shittiest ways, so now everything is like that. I search for something on DDG and then the map pops up as I go to click.

Ha - yes! That's actually one of my cases I run into. DDG is so bad with how they handle maps and images, I just go back to using Kagi or Bing.

This also happens with adblocking and script blocking as well. Where the page tries to load its advertisements or other garbage and malfunctions because it cannot serve its advertising content. Some sites will literally resend the tracking script or advertisement an infinite number of times if you have some type of blocking extension enabled.

I miss when people actually had hobbies instead of actually spamming clickbait everywhere, trying to be useless "talkshow hosts/podcasters", and making literally everything about money and ganging up to censor everything else. While of course, doomfagging/perpetually bitching and moaning as much as fucking possible about how "all is lost and we should just lie down and die while they fuck off to their vacation home" and lowkey humblebrag about being yuppie scum the whole time just to pad out the video time.

Mind you these are the kinds of completely unrelated videos that are largely the only search results whenever you go to search for anything hobby related these days. For example, Trying to find new miniature painting techniques will largely just bring up hordes of retards rubbing their face all over the camera talking about their personal lives the whole time instead of actually showing anything related to miniatures at all in the video.

Im also sick of fake engagement and militant glownigger shitposting and politisperging across the internet. Can't even escape it on kiwi farms of all places. At least it somewhat makes sense here since its a gossip site.

You mean you don't like "culture war" grifters and people who make every hobby political because they live comfortably in a 1st world country?

Granted, even "boomer" hobbies are like that: I see a good many homebrewing and barbecue/meat smoking channels shill a lot, even though they live rather comfortably in a nice house.

I hate how not a fucking thing that I've been strongarmed into using works well without a fast Internet connection. It's supposed to be possible to wait, but so many systems are designed nowadays in a way that causes them to fail indefinitely and without even an indication that the loop is never going to stop. It sickens me beyond words.

Also software in general assuming you're always hooked to gigabit fiber and calling some server every time it starts up BECAUSE IT JUST HAS TO, OK?????

Something I’ve found really annoying is that a lot of hiring companies use “myworkdayjobs.com” for their hiring. The problem is there it isn’t one domain but a sub domain or something. This confuses my browser who tries to put in the password for a different of myworkday which doesn’t work and I don’t care to memorize my passwords for these shitty sites. Which means I have to reset my password each time I go to these stupid data scalping sites.

There are images out there that are WEBP disguised as other files. Not just that BS where the URL says it's not WEBP but it's really WEBP: you could download a JPG, find that it does not open, then find out it is really a WEBP by changing the extension. WEBP is BS.
Yeah you have to put the stupid thing in an image/video editor and export it under a proper image format to get something workable, it's extremely fucking gay. Total WEBP death.
