Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

Newgrounds has recently made some change that stops Flash games from loading on my old Firefox install that I use for running Flash. What is the point of updating a Flash game website to use modern html features that stop it from working on the old browsers that actually still support Flash? Jayisgames has done something similar too, except they straight up block attempts at opening the site in an outdated browser.
Ruffle is still not an option for plenty of old Flashes and likely never will be. Its text rendering is broken and many of Flash's more obscure features are horribly supported.

God I miss /f/.

I'm considering just going full normalfag and not messing with tech anymore.
Funny you say that, considering that most normalfags I know are deep into nu-tech hell and surrounded by subscription service smart devices and other such Satanic nonsense. The mere suggestion that you don't want soytech listening to your every word is enough to make you a luddite pariah.

Will it get better?
we have to make it better

Normgroids are more chronically online then the average autist in ways you might not expect. And the difference between them and the average autist is they aren't even good with technology.

I used to trawl the Wayback Machine for old Flash games to download and run locally using an offline Flash player. Old Flash games can be very cosy.

Then they made an update that automatically runs all SWFs in Ruffle, and I have wasted hours trying and failing to figure out how to circumvent Ruffle to download them. Ruffle is garbage that doesn't work the vast majority of the time, and I hate it with a passion. I just want to play old games, and Ruffle being implemented into all the Flash repositories without the option to opt out has killed Flash more effectively than when Flash killed Flash.

I noticed when shit has ruffle player on it at least for me shits muted by default unless I cliick the player a certain place a certain way and there's a fuckign disclaimer abotu hadrare acceleration each time the page loads in. PISSES ME OFF MAN I MISS THE FIRST LIKE 5 SECONDS OF FLASH BASED AMBIENT SHIT THAT JUST STARTS UP WITHOUT A PLAY BUTTON FUCK ME MAN

I can't prove it, but this feels like the concept of searching itself has been pajeet-ified.
These are the questions that jeets would ask because they're too retarded to even know the context to the original question they are asking.
some switched to using LLMs as a "search engine" instead.
I have yelled at my mother multiple times to stop using AI search as an option. You were born in the 60s and did proper research by going through the library catalog and sat at tables for hours on end reading through books just to hopefully find what you are looking for. Stop using AI for "search" before I put you in the home early.
Allowing 80iq populations on the internet was a disaster. There should be great firewall that would block everyone from middle east, africa and asia as then the amount of subhumans on which imagery like this works would decrease by nearly 100%.
If I ever get promoted to handle network configurations, the first thing I am doing is blacklisting all Indian IP addresses.

To be fair, Ruffle is entirely open source - Adobe Flash and Adobe Flash Player were all products with a closed source core. Ruffle, and similar engines like Lightspark just have to make do with what's available. Ruffle (still) only has around 75% of the Flash API support.

I would love to see a modern, open successor to the Flash format. There are still areas where Web technologies just can't achieve what something like Flash did. One of the main things that killed Flash was the ever increasing number of """people""" (goyim) using the web on mobile devices. Phonefags have ruined literally everything about the Internet. The computer is for sitting down at to use.

It just makes things up half the time, and people place more value on an "AI" (LLM) response then they do on regular search results because normgroids don't actually know how it works.

Have you heard of flashpoint? I don't know what games you are looking for but most of what you could look for is on there.

I think the reason is because the majority of people in third world countries can't buy both a computer and a phone so they use a phone for everything. The amount of phone addicts in the first world doesn't help but they are outweighed by the billions of mobile jeets.

Absolutely true, but even in real countries with actual people the overwhelming majority of web traffic is from mobile devices.

The computer is an appliance. It's for sitting down at a desk or table to use. When it stopped being this, is when everything went to shit.

Have you not tried Flashpoint? You can literally download damn near every Flash game ever made and have them on your hard drive without needing to use Ruffle.

The push for fucking mobile apps to be involved in fucking every aspect of life infuriates me, which reminds me:

Again, do not lease with an apartment that uses a shitty fucking app for everything. Because these apps are so fucking terrible, I thought someone was trying to break into my apartment while I'm asleep (they use shitty fucking keypads anyone can just walk in with enough effort), and it turns out it's just maintenance doing inspection of equipment. This announcement for inspecting was sent out over their fucking app that doesn't fucking ping the phone becuase it DOESN'T STAY LOGGED IN. Also it says will send email notifications for these announcements, still have yet to receive one, so that's how I know it doesn't fucking work. And what makes this more annoying, the announcement just gets buried among the other "community announcements" you simply do not care about so you just end up ingoring it by mistake when you log in for the month to pay rent.

I hate how apps have enshittified even basic home living...

This could've ended poorly Kiwis, because I did have my glock in hand, and my brain was like, "no no this area is too fucking safe. wait before we chimp out."

I wholeheartedly agree. I said this in a different thread, but it merits repeating here:
My apartment complex removed all of the coin-operated laundry machines and replaced them with ones that require a specific smartphone app to use. The wholesale store where I previously got all my groceries stopped issuing membership cards and instead started requiring all customers to use a smartphone app to get through the front door. The university I attended required all students to use specific smartphone apps to complete assignments.

With every passing day, it becomes less possible to function in society without a smartphone. I pray for the breaking point to come soon.
It becomes extremely difficult not to fedpost here when the people I interact with in real life all act like each of these things is a positive development. We are living in a dystopian world.

The obsession with forcing apps into everything is annoying just because it adds an extra layer of complexity to things that didn't need it. It's just like when shit like ovens, washers, and refrigerators need to be "smart." Fuck, it may be worse. At least some of the smart refrigerators can use their screens like a TV.

Top 3 worst trend in tech. I don’t need my fridge or washer to be on a network. That’s dumb as hell.

The chain I go to used to have a few bar code scanners throughout the store for price checks on items where the price wasn't clearly marked. The last time I went to use one, I discovered they had been removed and replaced with signs encouraging shoppers to download their app and get price checks that way.

I have a better idea: If I need an app to tell me how much something costs, I'll buy it or its equivalent at a different place where I know how much I'll be paying.

In b4 hackers compromise someone's IOT washing machine and redefine the term getting into someone's pants.

It's so hard to escape though because everything that is not mainstream corpo owned is aggressively attacked and blocked/censored.
Wanted to host my own little website forum. It got bombarded with useless requests to standard (unopened) ports to execute every single vulnerability out there. Along with that, people trying to doxx my credentials, semi-DDOS’ing, et cetera. If you’re not backed by cloudflare as a home user, you’re pretty much fucked. I do still want to host my own servers, I just have to do it while getting rammed up the ass by cloudflare.

I would not be surprised if that were Cloudfare devices

"Back in my day, we didn't need big fancy flat screens on our appliances! Only one big screen, and that was in the family or living room!"
Hey, I never said that I personally needed a refridgerator that I can watch TV on. And honestly, even if that appealed to someone, Samsung in particular had to fuck it up by putting ads on the screen. That reminds me of that channel on the TV in Cyberpunk 2077 that literally is dedicated to playing ads.
