I am so glad I'm not the only person to have my foot defiled by a tortoise. Also, I genuinely needed the laugh this post gave me after reading the rest of this thread.

It was my bird that keeps humping my foot (spring=cockatiels being hormonal), but yeah tortoises are basically chaotic rampaging frat boys. They'll hump anything. One of my friends sulcatas has a particular thing for wheels, one time he was chasing after my other friends kid while he was riding a tricycle because he wanted to hump the wheels of the trike. It's wild.

Human/animal conflicts are an issue with primates, but it doesn't justify or fully explain this sick fuck shit. Tons of animals can have conflicts with humans like raiding crops, killing livestock, etc. Everything from canines to raccoons to parrots. These assholes who enjoy this shit have something seriously wrong with them, and a lot of them seem to be pretty blatantly using non-human primates as a stand-in for humans. Fucked up on so many levels.

Humans are prone to cruelty because we evolved from chimps and chimps are sadistic little fuckers who cannibalize their own (even babies, including human ones). Gorillas on the other hand will not kill animals that are weaker than them meaning gorillas are innately more moral than humans

Humans have probably been recorded cannibalizing babies more than chimps have, to be fair. All the most fucked up shit chimps have done, humans have done times like 1000.

I'd assume it's poor people making the videos for sick fucks overseas, similar to what Peter Scully did with human children. A lot of poaching and wildlife exploitation and abuse is ultimately fueled by poverty and other human issues.

This. It's a combination of subhuman third worlders who have had literal genocides happen within living memory and jaded westerners with burnt-out dopamine receptors trying desperately to feel something but are too scared to actually change anything in their lives to alleviate it.

It's not uncommon for animals to kill offspring of their predators either, for example I've heard of elephants trampling hidden lion cubs. Nature is brutal and gives zero fucks about anything other than survival.

Hell, I've heard that's why chimps have occasionally attacked human children. They know they grow up to be their biggest predator.
