That trailer settled it. This shit is just too Marvel for me. It's not even because of the Whedon dialogue, which was surprisingly absent here, but because it has all devolved into "...And then this nigger shows up and barks a reference!"

At this point, NRS is just too much in the modern audience side of all things considered, pandering to as much fat slop-eating feminazis and leftist as much as possible whilst taking away the life of what makes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat. They just really think the multiverse idea is really going to make good money and increase in playing rates in EVO.
Repeating the same mistake since MK11 is not going to make good revenue if they do not stick to the 2D era’s magnum opuses and charm. This is MK11 but more woke than Jax’s ending here and even more ugly girlbosses with tranny faces and bad decisions attempting to paint Boon as a “shrewd” troll amongst MKfags. Boon sucks at trolling more than Harada’s way of trolling FGfags and Tekkenfags. I have no remaining hope for MK, but the animality was a decent comeback for the game, and that would be the only thing I am hyped for nostalgia in MK3.

Ghostface is a such a weak guest character. At least you could see Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees fitting in the MK universe. I recall seeing a comment that suggested Pinhead could be a slasher DLC and he would at least have a creative moveset.

WB and NRS are desperately trying to make MK into the next Marvel, but losing what made people love MK in the first place.
Edit: To add NRS blatantly LIED and said the skins during Mileena's season were themed for her ("flesh pits" skins) after the initial leak that came out stated they were Havik skins. In short, NRS did not make any Mileena skins during her season and replaced it with Havik's while shutting down anyone who called them out on it, but the trailer all but confirms they were alway meant for Havik.

And I like Kill Bill. But fucking, can we stop? Each guest slot is a spot knicked from an actual legacy character that people want. But instead it's nostalgia bait and needless pandering and trend chasing that shit all over the fans.

I can see the T-1000s fatalities in my head. I'd put money on one of them being the liquid nitrogen bit from the film and the other being the eye stab.

I actually dig the setup of Conan vs T1000 but frankly they seem out of place compared to the first guest line up of evil superheroes. Its more appropriate for MK 11 and ghost face would have been better for 10.
It's just a very uneven guest line up and it doesn't really bring the hype like 11's did. They should have picked a theme and stuck with it.

Havik just feels like a C-level character to be the big bad for this expansion pack since this game blew its load with Titan Shang Tsung. Since NRS decided to multiverse the series and now every character is a Titan, why not have the Titan version of Shao Kahn or Quan Chi be the next threat? I would have included Titan Mileena but she is no longer a villain in this reboot.

Not just the guest fatalities, even the main roster has grown stale with everything being a bisection or somebody blowing up. I can be rather squeamish but with how much theyre doing eye shit lately it doesnt even affect me anymore.
Takeda's latest fatality was started off really good with the chainwhips bleeding out the opponent, that was nasty already, but of course, they just had to follow it up with the guy fucking exploding *and* splitting his head in half afterwards.

Even during the Midway era of games, especially the 3D ones, still felt like MK and added lore to the games that didn't feel like a ripoff of comic book schlop. WB is probably the worst thing that happened to MK and it's sad to see this once bright bushy eyed man become a husk of what he once was. I bet he regrets not leaving at the same time Tobias did (people forget Tobias was also the co-creator of MK and was responsible for a lot of the lore for the early MK games) to have a wife and kids.

I doubt he has any regrets over clinging to his claim to fame. For the OG MK arcade game, Tobias was the one who came up with the Koncept, story, and Kharacters (ok I'll stop, lol). Boon was, at that point just a programmer, not one of the creative guys. He did get input, but Tobias was the creative lead.
He was likely the type to get wedgies and stuffed into lockers in school, so I'm sure he's quite happy to be in a position to be fawned over as the "creator" of MK.
It's a shame. Mortal Kombat, is still a fun game to play, if they could just take the weird social justice bullshit out of it. Hell, it might actually sell better if they did that.
