IDK, most of the forums seem to have as many, if not more, people shitting all over Fatal Fury COTW, than praising it. As an OG Neo Geo/Fatal Fury fan, I love the game. I don't get the hate it seems to get online. I'd almost think it was a concerted effort to try to sink the game by...someone, lol. More likely, it's probably just a bunch of retard SF6 fans trolling.

Guests characters nobody wanted (and 2 of them aren't even voiced by Ronaldo and Ganacci), Ishowspeed (noting against him, but come on), shitty ui, beta was ass, online is kinda ass for some people, lack of game modes, very bad marketing, adding everyone but Freeman, Grant (who is dead or dying for some reason), and one of Kim's sons, engine is showing its age, kinda meh unless you're a hardcore Fatal Fury fan.

I am a hardcore Fatal Fury fan. I agree about the guests, although they at least tried to make Ganacci fit in the game as a "goofy" character. Ronaldo has no business near this game, and his arcade mode story is just dumb.

The marketing seemed strange at times, but that doesn't really reflect on the game itself, just the knuckleheads in marketing.

I'm sure Freeman will eventually show up in the game as a playable character. He's in at least one of the arcade endings as I recall.

What game modes would you like? EoST is just OK, to me. It adds some story elements for the characters, but a bit too grindy for me.

I will admit, though, when y'all said she was a nigress, I assumed she was like that bitch who played Elpheba in the Wicked movie. I'm gonna be real, It could have been worse. I just wish they didn't make her bald. Why did they make her bald?

If they didn't shave her, I think she could have passed as the ambiguously brown Jade.

There's been a lot of talk about character designs in this thread, so i'd like to add my two cents.

Personally, MKX is where character designs peaked. Past that point, the designs began to downgrade, indicating a lean towards more generic-looking, "blank slate" characters. Compare the MKX and MK1 default Kitana designs for example. One looks more regal and princess-like, while the other looks like she walked out of Planet Fitness.

This doesn't only apply to Kitana, but a whole host of other characters in MKX, like Mileena, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Ermac, and so forth.

I'd guess the "blank-slate" look that was introduced in MK11 was meant to give way to and incentivize wider customization, which, although I think wider customization was the best thing NRS has done with MK, they didn't have to make the default costumes look generic in order to achieve it, especially knowing that they would be used in story mode.

So yeah, MK default designs have had a downgrade, along with some other things like animations (which look stiffer in MK11 and MK1), as well as voice acting and dialogue in story mode. Hopefully things can improve, at least somewhat, in later titles.

And it sort of like dilutes the whole ninja aspect. Without the mask, they are just dudes in hoods or saturated tunics.

Which reminds me of that really fucking funny moment in MK9 where someone calls Sub Zero a ninja and he's all triggered about it like "I am not a ninja. I'm Lin Kuei"

Which I guess makes sense since ninjas are spies first whereas shinobi are the actual assassins.

Still pretty funny to me.

Looking back at Rain, his design may have the ninja mask, but he looks more faggier than his previous design, looking like a goddamn peasant with a "ninja getup" with hoods and mouth masks from a cosplay convention with a stick instead of an Edenian royalty palette swap Ninja that he was supposed to be, with black, purple and gold harmonizing his ninja aspects. This Rain takes Overlord Zeffeero's name and retcon himself as Zeffeero the gay hipster water mage, which makes no fucking sense at all.

Since this gay Pajeet Rain is also voiced by a Pajeet (Noshir Dalal), I think we could joke about this faggot being an Edenian tech support scammer, scammed by Raiden. Make that if you will for MK1's way too over-the-place theme in Outworld, where royalty wear like they came out of the gym instead of the higher-ups, and every ninjas extremely bland and forgettable, then retcon the living shit out of them and made them even more forgettable than their classic Kounterparts.

No, you're not. I'm gonna pick it up since I'll have people to play with on console. I miss Trilogy for as bad as Mythologies is I miss that too.

I also have nearly no play time of MK4.
