Was he an adult actor? AFAIK, dude was a composer who made music for one of the MK11 trailers, which is....the most retarded reason for him being a skin. Like who in the fuck is Dimitri Vegas and why should I care?


And why is his VA work so shit?

Edit: I have not watched the full story vid yet but even just from the trailer...what is this game's obsession with making everyone quirky instead of just honorable warriors? Fucking everyone got a witty little comment about everything and it's like....huh?

She seemed fine to me, certainly not worse than the average 3D Midway VA, and sounded like she was taking it seriously.

Stallone and Peter Weller were pros about it too, but JCVD sounds like he's got better shit to do... I wonder if he did his own grunts and fight sounds.

Agree the game will be shit, but on the contrary, the story is the only thing that will keep it relevant beyond the one week hype train following it's release. I'm not sure if I'm the only one noticing this, but noone seems to actually care about the gameplay of MK. Since MKX, and arguably MK9, story-obssessed normies vastly outnumber actual fans of the game in every online forum be it Reddit, YouTube, Twitter etc.

Great point actually. Metal started off pretty great until Batman became this universal constant that transcends time and space or some shit like that.
I don't like Liu Kang ascending into godhood at all. It's really fucking stupid imo.

It's especially unoriginal because they don't do anything interesting with it. They literally and only switched the roles between Liu Kang and Raiden. Even switched the personalities too because Raiden is now an MCU quip machine like Liu Kang was in 11.

It's a giant gay circlejerk between the two of them.

Fucking hell, if you are gonna play fast and loose with characters like that, do something interesting, dammit.

Watched the first hour of the story on YouTube, it's so ungodly slow, it's insane. Like the Johny Cage opening was like ten minutes of fucking nothing until the end and he ended up doing jack shit in his episode. The tournament itself was over and done in 10 minutes and for some reason consisted of Raiden fighting four battles in a row with a single evening break. How is that fair?

The worse thing is the models, all the characters look the fucking same besides Johnny Cage, and if you put them in a lineup in a neutral outfit they'd be impossible to tell apart, and that's besides the women all looking ugly. The visuals really reminds me of Forspoken, it's like the gaming industry trying to gaslight us into thinking the new motion capture with facial capture is good, but it just makes models look ungodly bad.

I don't really get the plot of Liu Kang fucking over Shang Tsung, why not make him a good guy instead so you could keep an eye over him? Chronica is back despite being generic doomsday villain. The Outerrealm plot line seems to struggle between showing how good things with the matriarchy and having overdone GoT drama.

I kinda prefer the Mortal Kombat kids over this, at least it felt like the series went somewhere rather than recycle the same plot line for the fourth time.

In the process of watching story mode. To start with a few nice things, I like the little nods to MK9, and Baraka being on the good side for once is refreshing. I'm also enjoying Reptile and Ashrah so far. Other than that:

-Johnny being little more than a quippy movie referencer got old fast. The Aliens reference made me chuckle but that's about it.
-Shang Tsung being so easy for Kronika to manipulate is embarassing.
-Are they going so far into the Raiden/Liu Kang switch that they're setting up Raiden with Kitana now?? JFC.
-Megan Fox is seriously awful, her line reading is as enthusiastic as Lily Gao's in the RE4 remake.
-I finally realized why Kitana and Mileena's faces feel weird to me, they look like puffy, like they've been stung by bees.
-Seeing Li Mei and Sindel in the same scene is kind of hilarious because of how obvious it is that they have the same face model, the only difference being that Sindel has makeup on while Li Mei doesn't. They have no excuse for this unless there's a sudden twist that reveals they're secretly related or something.

I definitely didn't see the whole multi-verse thing happening; but that's also because I thought Boon might put some effort in and not turn the last third of the game into his version of Marvel's Avengers: End Game. The mid-credits scene isn't much bait either; just a bunch of hybrids lamenting they weren't around for the big fight. Is that going to be the future of MK Boon? A bunch of retarded looking Create a Characters?

Rate me late but making the Tarkatans victims of a virus that mutated them along with having Mileena the first-born daughter of Sindel, who is hiding her affliction from the virus, is stupid. Going through the previously linked gameplay, the story reeks of current day writing like the previous installment. The Tarkat virus is COVID-19 while Outworld is a lush and beautiful place under Sindel that will likely become the Outworld of old if Shao Kahn takes control (*cough* toxic masculinity *cough*).

Everything I see posted about this thing is about the cutscenes of the storymode, that retards pretend is some deeply written shit. MK11 was a snore with it's storymode and I only did it to unlock shit.
