MK1 was hated by mainly oldfags and NRS pre-MK1 fags. It's the same shit with the Spawn delay in MK11. They knew it was what a lot of people wanted (Spawn was constantly begged for in polls/Takeda had one of the highest playrates in MKX), so they delay the release of that character until nearly a year later in an attempt to maintain relevance.
He's one of the Next Gen Kombat Kids from MKX. By far the most popular and likable one of the lot.
Kung Jin is the only MK character to ever use a bow as a primary weapon, so there's at least one unique element to him. I'd say the worst Kombat Kid was Jacqui since she was just dickless Jax, and NetherRealm tried so hard to get people to like her. They gave her an incredibly overpowered moveset in MK11, and yet still no one gave a shit about her.
Which is why it's so weird that they brought her back for MK11 even. She sucked ass.
