If they wanted their lady cyborgs so badly, they could have used Frost and Skarlet (Cyborg skin in MK9). But they could have used Frost considering her entire story for the past two timelines.

Usually the point of the rule 63 is to entice people because majority male playerbase + new cute waifu = more interest and cash. It doesn't always work but that's the gist. Sherax and Shektor look genuinely unappealing so they fucking failed right away.

As stated earlier Sherax looks like a little Boyrax.

Now personally I find this move annoying and transparent and shameful and useless and disrespectful to old Ketchup and Mustard considering they had zero reason to do any of this.

Leaked MK3 movie Raiden and Jade redesign. Lord Raiden is no longer a white man with long, straight and luscious platinum white hair, he’s now a nigger with ugly dreadlocks.

Jade is now a Muslim Gypsy. High ESG score because Raiden is not played by Tadanobu Asano or having a white cis guy as a facial model. I like the risk they’re going as well.

Doubleposting, but it's a memory road to see both Sal Divita and Kerry Ann Hoskins in one picture. Knowing that Boon can be a retarded and autistic troll, but this brought my inner nostalgia for MK3 and UMK3.

A lot of MK characters back in the 3D Era were hit-and-miss and are reskins of existed Kombatants, but personally, I'm incredibly biased over Fujin. I only liked Quan Chi, Shinnok, Kenshi, Tanya, Ashrah and Li Mei; but my most personal favorite from the hit-and-miss roster was eggman Quan Chi and Tanya as a lorefag.

To this day, Kerri's Sonya is the top of the food chain for that character's looks.

I find pretty funny that Arnold voiced Dutch in that Predator game from some 4 years ago, but not in both MK. Guess he dodged a bullet.

Fanarts really cary it, but yeah, the designs are pretty good, if they had better models to look more feminine, it would still be better than the photorealist stuff we got. Style remain king.

Can you imagine if Capcom sudendly decided "Street Fighter characers now must be perfect 1:1 face scams of their VAs"?

Through I do think some MK10/11 designs are good, cant say the same for 1.

Reddit spoiler fellow FateUnknown is right, Mortal Kombat is over. He said this and was soundly drubbed by fans on copium.

Well, the trailer for the definitive edition (last cash grab) is out.


As boring as this game is to watch and play, I will miss Omni-Man's cake and thighs in that costume as well as the hottest Kenshi Takahashi they ever made.

I would flush the last decade of games if we got that MK1-3 trilogy remake that got scrapped that Boon signed an NDA to not speak about for some reason.

Meh. I said it in one post earlier in the thread, I'll say it again:

These aren't the characters I grew up with or at least recognize. I don't care what happens to them anymore.

Even the good ideas for lore or worldbuilding purposes here-and-there (random example: I'm down with Reptile switching between human and lizard forms as he did this game to finally placate both sides of the argument) could've easily been inserted into a new entry of the real timeline from (Actual) MK1-MK11. Meanwhile, instead, we get all sorts of strange retcons (Mileena the older one and now Empress? Kuai as a hybrid of himself and Hanzo leading the Shirai Ryu? Bi-Han's essentially become Sektor in personality?) in a world that seems more interested in placating the UwU Twitterina types to where they actually lost some fans because they no longer had villains or actually turning them into the UwU types lost the appeal to those "fans" in the first place.

Another older post of mine in the thread here makes it clear I could even live with all the many retcons... as long as they leaned heavily into the initial "IT'S IN OUR BLOOD" tagline, making it clear it'd become recognizable with some new twists here-and-there to what we know to keep things fresh... but they didn't. And if anything, it makes even those retcons feel ultimately pointless to the point of being offensive. I want Kuai Sub-Zero back, I want Hanzo Scorpion back, I want Edenia its own thing from Outworld again (respectively Greco-Roman fantasy vs Chinese wuxia), I want God Raiden back. I want the bad guys to be bad guys and menacing again so it's cathartic when the good guys indisputably triumph over them, I want MK as MK back.

But no, they had to lean into the worst cross of twitterina and MCU multiverse combined to make an unappealing pot of slop.

It's clear after Tobias left that he was the brain behind the lore of the early games. Boon just leaned heavily into whatever tropes were popular at present, and in the process turned Mortal Kombat into Injustice but with gore.

Also, it is now a textbook example of how too many guest characters ruin a franchise. Half the trailer for the definitive edition is about the guest characters, and every other wishlist from idiots is about their dream guest characters in that game. These guest characters overshadow the main characters not named Sub-Zero, Hanzo, Johnny Cage, and Mileena, sheesh.

Another one would be flushed to the toilet anyway because of Noob Boon's incompetence and MK has been dry for way too long. Don't ask them for anymore ideas, they might turn everyone into jigaboo filler girlbosses.

If these figures were to be believed (source), Mortal Kombat 1 actually is on the higher end of the spectrum as far as sales are concerned.

However, it is unfortunate that the previous two games were peak sales numbers for this franchise, and this game sold only one-third of the previous game. Mess.
