Most Frustrating Boss Battles

The only boss in any game that REAAAALLY pissed me off was Seth from street fighter 4.
It's like they said "hey! Why don't we make the boss of the game have almost no unique special moves, and instead give him all the most annoying moves from all the other fighters?" Like I get why they made him that way. Because he's supposed to be this living computer that's supposed to be the ultimate fighter because he copies the best moves from everyone else, but I think it's a shitty idea to just have him constantly spam the same 3 moves over and over.
And the thing that makes me the most angry about him, is that he does jack shit during the first round. You beat him once and you start to think "oh this isn't so bad, I can totally beat him." But after you beat him that first time he kicks his asshole level to maximum overdrive and just comes at you with a fucking barrage of pile drivers and uppercuts.

Megatron from the PS2 Transformers game (based on the Armada series, not the movie.) He'll pick you up, jump like a mile into the air, suplex you and then literally kick your prone and battered body into a volcano.

In fact, a lot of the bosses from that game were frustrating. Tidal Wave killed me a ton of times before I was able to finally get past him.

I was also not a fan of Alpha (the Kasumi clone, whatever her name was) from Dead or Alive 4.

The final boss: Dialga from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Time/Darkness.

Still haven't beaten him yet, and again never beaten a Pokemon game in my entire life.

Hmm, I'm an avid gamer and I feel secure enough in my abilities to say that I have almost superhuman patience and perseverance when it comes to vidya. Therefore I don't really remember any boss encounter being particularly hard.

...or maybe I just only play easy games, who knows?

Here's something: the final boss of Akashicverse. The rest of the game is a neat, gimmicky bullet hell, and then that happens. The fight itself is easy if you know what you're doing. But it stands out like a sore thumb. It's frustrating because it's completely batshit all of a sudden, and a pain to look at and listen to.

That's what you get when you try to make your game CUHRAYZEE and go overboard.

Recent, and not QUITE a boss fight but it is the final battle in the game...
Vox Populi at the end of Bioshock Infinite.
And anytime a Handyman or Fireman shows up. I hate those guys. I did find an easier way to take them down and they're more like mini-bosses, but still...
Lady Comstock was also a bitch to fight.

Throw in another vote for both Whitney and Clair.
I had an easier time with Whitney than Clair since I usually start with Chikorita, but it's still a trial of endurance.

Any boss in the water temple of a Zelda game I've played.
Especially mini-boss Dark Link. Fuck that guy.

I agree. There's only so many Din's Fires you can do to him until you run out of magic. Also I tend to miss with the Megaton hammer.

And you can't Z-target the bastard either. He just targets you back and jumps on your sword. :x

Of course, no 'hard bosses' thread is complete without mentioning Dark Souls somewhere.

You've got the goat-headed terror known as the Capra Demon, who you fight in this tiny-ass room that could not play more to his strengths.

Ornstein and Smough, two big bruisers that are clearly intended to encourage jolly co-operation, and as such are nigh-impossible to solo. It doesn't let up once you kill one of them either, as the other one just powers up from the dead one, fully heals, and gets a whole bunch of new attacks.

Personally, though, none of them gave me as much trouble as the Four Kings. Before you even reach them, you have to wear a completely useless ring. Then, when you reach them with the ring on, they're fast, strong, have ridiculous range, and do entirely magic-based damage, making it very tough to adequately defend against them. Also, the environment you fight them in is completely black, which makes it difficult to gauge just how far away from them you are.

I dislike Risk of Rain's Magma Worm (a possible boss for level 1) and Cremator (a possible boss for level 4), they're both much more difficult than Providence (the final boss of the game), especially when the worm's sparkly.

The Bloat in The Binding of Isaac is also a piece of shit, shoots you immediately when you enter the room if the entrance wasn't from the top. At least the boss screen is nice enough to tell you you're fighting it so you have time to hold down the move button immediately. ??? is annoying with all them angels around the end too.

I think I hate Thunderbird from Zelda 2 as well but it's been a while.

Krotchy in Postal 2.

So you would think you can just shoot him and grab a Krotchy doll. Unfortunetly, not only does he have a rocket launcher, but Krotchy aint got no Kahonies

KROTCHY IS KAHONIES

BITCH
Krotchy is pretty easy if you have the Napalm Launcher or the Bazooka. Then you just need to hide in cover and fire it at him a few times.
He's still pretty damn tough, though. Especially if you tried to kill him by punching him to death like I did.

Handyman and Firemen are a bitch to fight. I don't actually have any trouble with the Vox or Lady Comstock. I always use the burning halo hat so I can usually finish off and incinerate most enemies with my skyhook.

The Vox, I kept trying to use the big guns because it was suggested. I'm terrible at those.
I finally beat them by just doing what I do best: carbines, pistols, and shotguns.
Also changed up the strategy on using Songbird. I kept focusing too much on the zeppelins.

Lady Comstock caught me off guard big time.

I also learned the hard way that staying on the skyline when fighting a Handyman is a bad idea. lol

The Octoking in Duke Nukem Forever was pretty frustrating. His attacks are massive blasts of energy, and there's not much cover to avoid them. I gave up on it after a while because I kept dying, and since I was playing on the Xbox 360 version, the time it took to load everything before you respawn was so long that it made me lose patience after about five or six deaths.
The other boss battles in DNF are fairly easy though, if not incredibly monotonous.

What got me in that game was that goddamned shitheaded stupid trolling woman-stealing fucking evil hateful monstrous goddamned...whatever that thing was at the bottom of the Hoover Dam. You know, that horrible giant worm thing that attacks you when you go to plant the second demolition charge. GAAAAH FUCK I'm seriously getting frustrated just thinking about it right now.

That game was so awful.

Yeah I think Carbines and shotguns are the way to go. I used repeaters the most though.

I honestly didn't think I'd love the carbine as much as I do now, lolol.
I used to use submachine guns but...

My strategy for the Octoking was basically stand to the far right (behind the only bit of cover in the fight) and just keep spamming the rocket launcher, I just remember it being so tedious.
