Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII but on sale with the power up kit. The reason why is I love XI but Koei is too lazy anymore to put a good product and doesn't deserve money but I love the series and wanted a new game.

Has anyone actually finished one of those fucking things?

I got Fallout 76 on day one at full price because i am a huge Fallout fanboy and i was hoping it would be at least playable.

I thank the fucking gods up in the sky because i cancelled my Power Armor edition like two weeks prior and settled for the normal version instead, so it wasn’t as bad.

As far as weeb trash, I guess the most shameful would be Criminal Girls. Mostly known for it's weird rubbing minigame.

As far as quality, not sure. I did pick up Megaman X7 the other day. Haven't played it myself, but I hear it's pretty shit.

Dear Esther. I guess lots of people get tricked into buying a trash indie game at some point, but Dear Esther is a special kind of awful.

My trash indie game of choice was Virginia. If you can have the same full experience of a “game” by watching it on a YouTube playlist, then it’s not a game.

Koei and that series help shape strategy games on the PC. While they are now outshined by Paradox and Creative Assembly, some of their games, especially ROTH 11 are still enjoyable. Pretty much 1-3 are too clunky to get into from my experience.

I have the retarded urge to buy some Sims 4 DLC.

Anyway, I just remembered that about 8-9 years ago I bought 3 indie games, The Adventures of Captain Becky, Ninja Chop and One-Finger Death Punch. I do not regret OFDP but the other two...the fuck was I thinking?

Myst on the 3DS, with the caveat that my dad bought it for me, but it was because I had asked. I was interested in trying out Myst for myself for the first time (I’ve played one of the sequels), and hey, why not buy it for a platform that I can play while lying in bed?

I had no idea how bad the port was, to the point it was literally unplayable. For starters, if you know anything about Myst, you know it’s a point and click game. So naturally, the screen you interact with is on the bottom, right?

Nope, not only is it on the top screen, you have to use the circle pad to move the cursor, oh, and it auto centers EVERY TIME YOU STOP USING IT.

After giving up on trying to strike a match with the circle pad on two pixels of the top screen, I actually physically threw away the game because I didn’t want anyone else to experience such an awful port.

The kicker? They were selling that shit for $30.

That rayman minigame collection that was a Wii launch title. Shit happens when Zelda is sold out everywhere.

At least I was able to flip it quickly afterwards.

Indigo Prophecy ( aka Fahrenheit ). One of the only games I've immediately resold after finishing. What a joke, the entire affair is a endless string of "Simon" quick-time-events and linear sequences tied together by one of the most deranged and stupid narratives ever. Only good thing about it is that it served as a warning for me to never buy anything associated to David Cage in the future. His company just keeps making the same game over and over again.

I got scammed by the OG Tom Howard, aka Tim Schafer, with Spacebase DF-9 back in the day.

Still salty about that one.

Also I'm one of those retards that buys sports titles every year.

Pre-ordered the first Homefront. Partially for a Team Fortress hat, which I assumed to be highly exclusive and rare ala the Max Head, but also because I was excited about the whole American Insurgent storyline. I'm pretty sure single player was like 5 hours long.

Story time; after having talked about not hating the first Life is Strange game and assuming a sequel could be better. After thinking it over, I decided to try the sequel to see if there was an improvement. Well I get on my Steam, and for some reason I can't buy it for me, just as a gift. Turns out, I had already bought it mere weeks earlier. Turns out even further, I had played it for like an hour. I had even apparently gone so far as to (halfheartedly) defend it. And then had the fucker Men in Black-wiped from my consciousness.

I had paid for the game and played like half of it, and then completely forgot the experience. Even as a "not bad" game, that's gotta be up there in terms of regrettable purchases. I had zero recollection of ever having touched it.

I bought Duke Nukem Forever on release knowing full well what it was, no regret. I actually like the kinda bad games and buy them willingly and they're often the games I finish. One time I bought a bad game(Matt Hazard for the 360) and accidentally got a better bad game(Earth Defense Force for 360) by mistake, so I bought Matt Hazard again, knowing I had a second chance to rethink the situation. I regret nothing, I'm a gaming garbage picker at heart, let me see what's in that trash.

Most shameful would probably be Tobal No.1 for the PS1, just for the Final Fantasy 7 demo... that wasn't included in the European version... Part of me knew that but I stood around for hours in a store that sold imports and weird pirated games, waiting for their delivery and then bought it anyway. We actually got into playing that game, it's neat fighting game and 60fps plus some fluid animation goes a long way, then a friend borrowed it which ended with someone getting stabbed. Anyway, I actually ended up buying another copy.

I had the FF7 demo that came with Playstation Underground. I think it's volume 2? I should still have it. Somewhere. Damn I played that thing all the time. I remember having to turn it off once because my sister wanted to watch a Spice Girls concert on TV.

I never actually bought Tobal no. 1 though. I did have the demo. I had a lot of demos. Wish I still did.*sigh*

Oh boy, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is a big one for me. I loved the original trilogy and assumed that it would be a wonder romp with that loveable purple dragon again.

I was wrong. Oh so terribly, terribly wrong. It was a glitchy mess of stalled models, long loading times, wonky animation, uncollectable collectables, and crushed dreams on the Gamecube. And it was all due to Universal wanting the game out by Christmas due to greed. At least the music was produced by Stewart Copeland so that makes one GOOD thing on this shit sundae of a game.

This was my first Gamecube game. I loved Spyro so I thought it would be good. Sadly it's so broken it takes the patience of a saint to get through it. I did finish the game. But damn was it a chore. You could barely glide onto a platform without slipping right off. The game was so glitchy. One area doesn't even load all the way initially. You have to leave the area that stops loading and come back and hope the damn thing loads up. It's a shame because I liked the game itself. I loved that silly subplot with the cows being abducted by UFOs. But the whole thing was ruined by being damn near unplayable. I eventually traded it in for something less awful. Can't remember what.

I bought Gone Home.

I wasn't paying attention so I sort of thought it was a horror game. It's not the worst thing I've ever played, but it was definitely the most disappointing.

I thought it was going to be a horror game too. I figured you'd eventually find your family dismembered in the basement r it would turn out that you were a ghost the whole time and the family was at the funeral or went to the hospital to see you as you were dying and that's why no one was home. Those would have been way better plots than "exceptional teen daughter goes off with AWOL girlfriend because feels". Give me a break. Those two are never gonna make it and they'll be miserable in two months time.

Also, bitch be AWOL.

Myst on the 3DS, with the caveat that my dad bought it for me, but it was because I had asked. I was interested in trying out Myst for myself for the first time (I’ve played one of the sequels), and hey, why not buy it for a platform that I can play while lying in bed?

I played it on DS and I think they are basically the same but the screen you interact with is the touch screen at least. Oddly enough I finished it. I initially played it on Saturn but couldn't really figure a lot of it out. I also emulated it for Playstation. I think. Maybe it was emulated for Saturn? This was a few years ago. But my mouse was too sensitive and I had issues with the music puzzle because of it. I didn't fiddle with that for long. So I shifted to DS and it was an awful experience. I don't know how I finished it. But I did. The touch screen is very imprecise and it's hard to trigger puzzle elements. Everything seems a few pixels off and it looks abysmal. It looks like the 3DS version is more like Real Myst and is in 3D. But that apparently doesn't save it from being horrible.

Just play it on PC.

I usually only buy stuff that I know I want. I haven't had that many duds really. But I do regret getting a PSP. It's not really a great console. There's little on it that I wanted besides Ys. There's like no games. JRPG wise it was meh since I had a bunch of stuff on DS already. I put it away for like two years and stupidly forgot to take out the battery even though I swore I'd be careful. I only discovered my folly after the theft of my other stuff. My PSP wasn't taken. But the battery had asplode. The plate just popped off. Well there was no damage to the system at least. The batter had some greenish stuff coming out of it. But it didn't cause harm otherwise.

I did use it with the power cord. I noticed the plastic on the end that goes into the system has degraded somehow. Cheap ass production I guess. It's the rubber on top of the plug and not the cord. So it isn't a safety hazard. It just became weird and rough.

I might give it another shot. Maybe PSP isn't that bad.

I also didn't like PS3. I have never bought a physical game for it. It's hidden away in a box. I use the controller for PC. I know there's stuff I want for it. It's just that I never bothered to buy physical games. And who knows if I'll ever play it again. It's no PS2.
