Most shameful game purchase

Final Fantasy Explorers...

It was cheap ($15) at GameStop and I wanted something new to play. However, I played it for about a day and I had no clue what the hell I doing. I eventually got bored and dropped it like a feral cat. Still have game case (Artwork's nice), but I haven't seen the game cart recently.

Destiny. My coworkers at the time were raving about it. So I got it. Like pretty much every multiplayer game I ever bought to play with friends, by the time I was max level they all had moved to a different game. I don't buy multiplayer games anymore because while I do enjoy them with friends I pretty much hate dealing with randos with a burning passion.

Pre-ordered the first Homefront. Partially for a Team Fortress hat, which I assumed to be highly exclusive and rare ala the Max Head, but also because I was excited about the whole American Insurgent storyline. I'm pretty sure single player was like 5 hours long.
This is one of the worst full 60$ games I've purchased as well, in hindsight I really have no idea why I did that, the Red Dawn style theming was appealing to me but why did I feel like it was worth 60$?

Beyond that I also sadly paid 60$ for Silent Hill Homecoming and Silent Hill Downpour, I knew they were probably going to be bad (remember how awful it was that you couldn't voice worries about Homecoming without being labeled a weeb? And sure enough the game sucked shit) but I wanted to believe, instead Homecoming was terrible and I didn't bother to finish Downpour.

Dracula X Chronicles might have been the best thing I remember on the PSX. And that's just cause I really wanted to play Dracula X.
Is it any good though? I’ve been wanting to play that or the original for a while but don’t know which one to go for.

Also mines FE Fates, Dlc included, thank god I didn’t buy the special edition. Gameplay was good, most of the characters were eh (Takumi’s the only one who sticks out as a deep character,) and the plot was just Mary Sue wanking. Not even Edelgard could wank the professor off hard enough compared to Fates.

It's really good. I dumped so much time into that game, and the fact it came with Symphony of the Night was icing on the cake (even if it is a redub that got rid of all the fun voice acting). About the only issue I have is that the original version is a secret you have to find in the remake. The remake's good by itself, though the graphics can be a little muddy at times.

If you have a PS4, there's Castlevania Requiem which comes with the original and Symphony (again redubbed), but not the remake. It's also overpriced at $19.99 for two games that barely make up 6 hours between them and it's pretty bare-bones feature-wise.

Personally I'd go for the PSP version because it's got more meat on its bones (including a wonderful option to toggle what track plays on what stage) and it comes with bonuses the PS4 version doesn't have.

Fallout 4, $20. I was browsing at Walmart bored out of my mind, a friend recommended it to me. I'm never trusting that asshole.

Detroit: Become Human. I caved into the hype but at least I didn't pay full price, and the characters are hot.

Detroit is fun. there was a part in it that was kind of sad and I teared up. I liked all of that studios games, though (including the David Bowie one, omicron: nomad soul and heavy rain).

I actually enjoyed Gothic 3 for what it managed to do. Flawed, yes, but still a fun exploration game.

Speaking of Gothic...I bought Arcania on launch. Now that, I regret wasting money on.
Arcania... Actually I got that shit too. I feel for you.

Dead or Alive beach volleyball. I thought how cool boobs and anime girls were and found out it was an actual volleyball game where you dressed up the girls in outfits and accessories and have girl day at the beach.

The boobs were pretty sweet though.

Rumble Roses. I'm so ashamed.
I unironically like ecchi/fanservice type games, but in the case of Rumble Roses it's actually a solid little wrestling game and the volleyball in DOAX is actually a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

So no shame there for me!

When I purchased DOAX 1 at the EB Games in the mall, the person behind the counter jokingly reminded me the game was M rated. I responded that I hoped it was AO.

I bought DNF on release and regret nothing, buying DNF on release had been a thing I was supposed to do for so long and it felt good to finally have closure. Same with Prey.

DOAX1 was so fun, not the game itself(best volleyball since super spike v-ball though) but how people had meltdowns over it. Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden wasn't released yet but rumors were that Itagaki had big announcement and everything tied into the DOA universe(like Ninja Gaiden). Que Meja and the DOAX trailer. Pre-SJW people had meltdowns, even the artist of THE song associated with DOAX was NOT happy. Good times. The story/lore was actually really fun. Had that game on pre-order because everything around it got so many laughs out of me.

It doesn't seem weird now but DOAX was a mind boggling oddity at the time, it couldn't possibly exist, it couldn't get that big of a reveal, no one would do that with a franchise and it's hard to not support the oddities and strange if imperfect ideas(Simple 2000). If someone like Capcom made a sexy beach vacation game today I wouldn't give a shit but if they made a Mike Hammer adaption with Mike Haggar I would buy it sight unseen.

Itch.io Racial Justice Bundle back in 2020, a few weeks after Saint George of Fentanyl died. 1000 games but only a few good ones, and at least a few bucks went to getting violent criminals out of jail early. At least it was only $5 and had Celeste in it.

Edit: It has just been revealed to me that Celeste is a game made by a tranny :(. I guess the bundle was completely worthless.

How fitting, trans BIPOC unite!

Sex Reassignment Surgery Street Race Syndicate. The game was so bad yet such a shamefur dispray the fact NAMCO actually never made the game in first place. The game rights & assets were auctioned for 1.5 million dollars from the company who made few racing games for EA in 2000s.

PS3: Got it day one when it came out, looking back no idea what I was thinking. It's not a bad console by the end of the gen, but price was way too high for what little games it had.

Enchanted Arms: Due to lack of PS3 games and being a JRPG fan, I bought this at full price when it came out. Not a good game at all, some part you can laugh at but really is the low point in terms of From Softwares output.

Brütal Legend: It's not a bad game but I bought it day one and was not worth that price at all. Also fuck the marketing for outright lying about the type of game it was.

Spyro Enter the Dragonfly: This was a christmas gift but I asked for it. Really is just a dumb kids pick, buying it for the ip rather than looking to see if the game is any good but I learnt the lesson after it and would do more research on games.

Surgeon Simulator: The whole meme push got me to try it, but just didn't have any fun with it. Lesson learnt, don't get a game just because of memes or it going viral.

Saw 1/2: For some reason I went on getting Playstation trophy binge and pick these two up, despite the dumb reasons in buying them the first Saw game I had alright time with and was fully worth the price. Now Saw 2 was not good at all and didn't even go for all the trophies just to how poor the game was, bright side I did sell it for the same amount I paid for it. Never bought a game just for trophies after it and kind of stopped going for trophies as well.

Austin Powers: Welcome to My Underground Lair!: The game was super cheap and I was a huge fan of the movies, but still went in with low expectations. Review in short is that I don't even know if you can call this a game but rather a shitty late 90s website put onto a GBC cart.

Touch My Katamari: Like the other games and reviews were good, but not many of the reviews state how bad the grind to unlock levels were if you weren't willing to pay for microtransactions was.

Shadow the Hedgehog: This one is more shameful due to the reputation the game has rather than my feelings. Game was bad and happy I got to see how bad it was, main reason I got it was because it was in a deal with RE4 and couldn't see anything else I wanted in the deal.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled: It's not awful but it's by for the worst way to play Turtles in Time. No idea why I felt the need to own this game rather than just emulate the snes or arcade version.

Probably the first Life is Strange.

I like Telltale type games and I bought into the hype that it was such an amazing experience.

I fucking hated it. I was at the point where I was just starting to wake up to SJW garbage and it hit me like a ton of bricks with its virtue signaling. Just horrible.

Also, FF7 Remake. I heard about the changes, I heard it was divisive, but I wanted to see for myself. I hated it.
