Most shameful game purchase

As a child I basically got a game every time we went to the 'big city' back when ps2 releases were $80. I come from a moderately poor family, so thinking back, pretty much every shitty game feels like a great shame.

One that sticks out the most was Heroes M&M 5. I loved the third one but the idea that a game company could make a shit game was just beyond me. That was the day my world shattered. Oh, and some shitty PSX Dalmatians game that ended up being off-brand and literally just a movie with some painting segments.

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. Despite the reviews. I knew better. I wanted to help show Volition's new owners that people are still interested in this series by buying everything while all the game's installments (except for 1 and 2. Not on Steam) were on sale. I thought at least the writing/humour would still be good and it was worth a few bucks to see a bit more of the cast. It wasn't. It wouldn't even have been good DLC for SR4. I so deeply hope the title gets picked up or rebooted. What an awful way for a great series to go out.

SR3: 44 hours played
SR4: 35 hours played
SR:GooH: 7 hours played

Dragon Age II.

EDIT: Forgot I purchased the entirety of life is strange.
I think I blocked out getting that. I think I beat Origins like 7 times, on console. 2 fucking hurt me in a personal way. Besides that, I shelled out 2 bucks to max out my health in Devil May Cry 4. I hate the blue orb missions, but I’ll never get that money back.

Home Alone 2 in SNES. My mom tried to talk me out of it and get Chrono Trigger instead.

It worked out, since someone stole most of my video games when I threw a party. I’m ok with someone stealing that game.

Your mom knew her stuff.

For me, Sonic 06. At the very least, it was one of those so bad it’s good games.

Berserk Musou. I knew and had heard every complaint about Dynasty Warriors gameplay, and had even experienced it (and later sold it) with Fire Emblem Warriors.... yet I still bought it under the impression "Ah, Berserk skin will make it good"

And... no. It was still boring as shit Dynasty Warriors. Lesson learned.

I pre-ordered the original collector's edition of Final Fantasy XIV. I remember being flabbergasted when it ran like garbage on my HD 7850 only to learn it apparently ran that way on everything, but it was also just a letdown overall.

The only silver lining was that now I get a cheaper subscription to the current game and a tattoo on my old character's neck that is covered by armor 90% of the time.

I also bought X-Blades on a steam sale thinking I could get some fun out of a bad game, but quickly learned that would not be the case. Fortunately that was only a $5 or so loss.

I grabbed some Senran Kagura game on the 3DS after everyone had gotten in to a shit fit over a new game in the series. It was okay, but the fanservice was so in your face that it stopped being sexy and all those high-pitched anime voices got on my nerves.

I own quite a bit of crappy Sonic games like Heroes, Boom etc. They were all "gifts" though.

I bought Tomba 2 on PSN...before Sony released the updated US version that was in fucking English and I had to use my UK backup account to buy a version I could actually understand. It's mostly just shameful because I made the dumbdumb boomie assumption of it being in my own goddamn language in one of the most populated English speaking countries on the planet.

Can I bring one up that's a movie and not a game? I went to the movies some years back and was smart enough to turn down what everyone else wanted to go see, what they claimed "it's fucking badass man like Star Wars" yeah they were talking about Battlefield Earth and when I bring it up it's like a lifetime you're opinion is moot card.
