Most shameful game purchase

Dear Esther. I guess lots of people get tricked into buying a trash indie game at some point, but Dear Esther is a special kind of awful.
I still haven't forgiven Fullbright for convincing me Gone Home was more "Are You Afraid of the Dark" than a very special episode of "Blossom".

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...won't get fooled again.

SimCity 2013 and The Sims 4 were my most shameful game purchases, albeit I purchased SC2013 years after it's release. Both of those games turned out as bad as I thought they would be.

I bought huniepop for the boobs, found out it was pretty good so the shame left, then realized I could have just looked up a cg gallery if I cared that much, and the shame came back.

I downloaded the uncensored patch which brought the same back. But it's still fun 20/10 would buy the sequel for shame again.

Oh, just remembered another one. The Fellowship of the Ring for GBA. this was made the same time as the LOTR movies were coming out, so being hyped with birthday money i see it and figured, hey, maybe this will be fun. however, this was the only game to stick more to the books than the movies. and you get the feeling the devs didn't care. the game was completely broken, with items you needed to progress often not spawning, and by Moria you'd have enemies who could one shot your party. did i mention there is also a glitch that happens in every game that means you cannot complete it?

Fortunately they learned from thier screwups, since the GBA games based on the next two movies were fun little Diablo-type hack and slash games.
