WT is the hardest game I've ever played. It's incredibly complicated by design and there's no experience sorting system so new players will get absolutely rekt. It's compounded by the fact that low-mid tier is stuffed with experienced players because most high tier gameplay is fucked. There are also some major cringelets in the community like Spookston

I think it was the gay panda on Twitter who pointed out Dream Daddy wasn't intended for gay men, it was designed entirely for the people (mostly women) that fetishise them. And the very SJW-types at that, because isn't there a secret transman? And I remember the devs saying that they didn't let you have sex with one of the guys because he was married and they didn't want to cross that line - for gay guys it would be 'don't care, let's fuck'.
The amount of hype that game had from all the usual suspects was exactly what you'd expect, women on Kotaku writing repeated articles about how awesome the game was hyping DIVERSITY!!!! while ignoring/not realising that it was pandering nonsense designed for them, not the people it was ostensibly about. But then, these are the same women who read slash fiction and think it's anything other than porn, instead trying to hold it up as something meaningful and important rather than shallow fantasies for them to get off to.
But honestly, any fandom those people are a part of is incredibly toxic. Non-game related, but the YA fiction thread here has countless examples of just how poisonous these fandoms are. Much more likely to try and ruin you in real life than any place that just has a bunch of teenagers calling each other faggots as well.

FromSoftware. I know Dark Souls could be considered an online game, but take the "git gud" circle jerk is insufferable. I could rant at length about the FromSoftware fanbase but I'm told by others that my experience is unique.
Silent Hill. They are never happy with anything. If it's a copy of Silent Hill 2, they complain it's a sub par rip off and that pyramid head is James' monster. If it's different, they complain that it's not Silent Hill 2 enough. Bonus points if they complain about the lack of pyramid head and the nurses.
Not one game, but all of the old PC classic. Deus Ex, System Shock 2, MechWarrior 2, Fallout, Thief, you name it. The fanbases will shit on anything made after 2005 or any console exclusive. Old school revivals like Dishonored are condemned as irredeemable piles of shit for the slightest and pettiest reasons. Any criticism of the classics is denied outright, and if you provide proof it's handwaved as part of the experience or not important.
Edit: One I forgot to mention.
@Next Task's post reminded me, but any of the "art game" or "woke" fanbases. Any criticism of the game is dismissed as you being a bigot, or an idiot that is too stupid to understand the genius game design of copy-paste asset pack walking simulators, and people play along to not be outed as a bigot or an idiot. It's the emperor with no clothes.

I'm just glad this is on the first page. No other game comes close to the toxicity and pile of absolute CUNTS that is EVE Online. This is a playerbase that has doxed, ddos'd, and apocryphally gone to someone's home and cut their power/internet. This is a playerbase where the biggest autist wins, where you can shit so hard on someone where they cannot play the game. People have made friends for the sole purpose of stealing everything possible, taking years in the process. You think you know someone, then one day for whatever petty reason or just because they can they steal everything and close the corp or alliance.
Undertale. If a youtube played the game "wrong" they'd be harassed and flamed endlessly. Criticizing the game made it worse.
