I remember reading that on the 1d4chan wiki *note: it's in history on september 2013, that's how I found this.*

/mlp/ also hates much of "love and tolerate" brony culture and mindset as much as everyone else, even the term "brony" for them is treated with disdain, preferring themselves to be called: "nor/mlp/eople", "ani/mlp/huckers", "horsefuckers", and "clop faggots" to name a few as a way to distinguish themselves from bronies. Thus, to their credit, they at least realize that they're freaks. Despite sounding hilariously ironic, /mlp/, at large, loathes the USI-rampant culture of bronies who think they're entitled to a special privileges and/or attention by the show's staff and the rest of the world, simply by watching a show not made for their demograph.

Here's some insider info for y'all.
It was Ponychan, not MLPchan that took it as genuine. Ponychan is cancer, MLPchan is... MLPchan. (There's a story I could tell you younguns about the day all the content creators of /mlp/ fled to mlpchan thanks to Scruffy the Janitor) Ponychan is notorious for being the worst part of the fandom (besides those that frequent Equestria Daily) and being a circlejerk and a hugbox that accepts everything the show and Hasbro throw at them blindly. There's a reason Lauren Faust would rather frequent a board notorious for autism instead of Ponychan. (The butthurt was legendary)
A nice way to spot a person you should stay away from is if they use "love and tolerate" and don't use it in an ironic sense. If someone uses that phrase in your presence, run before they try to convert you to the Cult of Brony.

While I do hold some feeling that those racist comments could just be troll post, there are some bronies who would despise seeing a black human version of Twilight. I guess they complain because it doesn't agree with their head-canon. Can't wait to see them complain about someone making a Muslim Fluttershy pic or even complaining about a Muslim woman cosplaying Fluttershy. Seriously, the fandom can show its worst members just because they don't like a particular cosplay.

Actually, there's a lot of Muslim Fluttershy pictures. And there's usually a lot of backlash for them, and not because the art is bad. Love and tolerence indeedy.
