Go ahead and do what the title says.

Edit:
Unpopular opinions can be good or bad, this thread is just about the bad.

Well damn, already got beaten to Skyrim.

Overwatch. Blizzard's incompetently out-of-touch dev team (that has been long separated from the veterans who left ages ago) breaks the game every month and the base game is already a glorified MOBA because of its reliance on skill rotation and counters. It also lacks any more casual modes to make it as appealing as something like Team Fortress 2.

Even if you like the game as it is you still have to deal with the cancer that is the community and Blizzard's insistence on virtue signal politics that make the whole thing a massive Tumblr-shipping trash heap. Blizzard used to write detailed lore for the biggest MMO of all time, now they write about how another one of the characters was actually gay all along because I guess J.K. Rowling started ghost-writing somewhere along the line.

Isn't this basically the same thing as "Unpopular opinions about games" thread we already have?

On topic, that would probably have to be basically any game from Nintendo. I honestly cannot understand how anyone above the age of 14 or so can consider their games good, let alone. Basically all their games are marketed towards younger audience (Pokemon, Mario games and spin-offs, Splatoon, etc.) because they're all super cartoony and colourful. Hell, Labo is basically the equivalent of arts and crafts parents give their children as a hobby, just to distract them from destroying things around the house. But considering the amount of 30-something manchildren talking about how "mario and zelda is da best game evah" I guess I'm wrong. Nostalgia is one thing, but being so hyped for things very obviously out of your age range is another. They made a few games that were popular back in the day and were basically remaking them ever since. It's always "bing bing wahoo until the end of level and defeat Bowser", "get some big fuck off magic sword, defeat Ganondorf and get cucked by Zelda again", "catch pokemon until you fucking die" over and over again.

Also partially because Nintendo's ass-backwards marketing. I think it's getting less dumb, I'll give them credit, but still. You recorded a walkthrough of yourself playing a Nintendo game? We're removing that video off the face of the Internet. Or better yet, we'll claim that video, put ads on it and profit off of it. You wanted to make a fan game or a ROM hack? Too bad, here's a C&D, now years that you spent coding that game as a hobby and a love letter to our games inbetween your 9 to 5 job were in vain. If it were some other company, like EA or Activision, people would be rioting over that shit, but because it's Nintendo, it's fine, we understand. What the fuck kind of double-thinking is that?

I can only guess it's because Nintendo entered US market after the video game crash, so they revere them as "saviours of console gaming" of some kind, but I'm fairly certain Europe barely gave a shit. They had consoles and PC's and whatnot, they basically couldn't care less.

The only Nintendo game I enjoyed was Yoshi's Island, and I was around middle school-age when I played it. I never liked anything Nintendo before or after.

"Unpopular opinions on games" thread, can have a variety of opinions(I've seen more than just negative on there), this thread is just about games you hate.

Red Dead Redemption 2. The first game was one of my all time favorites and I thought was pretty much the perfect execution of the Rockstar formula.

The second is a pretentious wank that I have literally fallen asleep trying to play several times. Controls suck and there is no choice or variety in the gameplay. Also 120 GB install size? Seriously?

Shovel Knight. Really anything Wayforward makes.
Have you played the Plague Knight DLC? It's better than the original game by MILES. If you didn't completely hate Shovel Knight you should give it a go.
Life is Strange. I was curious about it and watched a playthrough of the demo, and I don’t understand how anyone can spend five minutes interacting with those characters without killing themselves.
Null's streams were the only possible way I could have gotten through that trash. Hella bad character writing.

I second overwatch, it's a really horrible game in terms of movement, I just can't stand a game where momentum isn't conserved when running on the ground. Even call of duty has shit like circle strafing, its built on the quake 3 engine
Call of Duty and Overwatch are very different from eachother tonally though. Overwatch is like an arcade game

This is basically how I describe Overwatch to people and why I personally like it: Its a MOBA without all the bullshit that comes with being a MOBA (Towers, lanes, trash mobs, last hitting, items)

Yup. Sadly I wanted a colorful team-FPS to rival TF2 since Valve is a bunch of howler monkeys.

I hope you didn't add the part about the dev team constantly breaking the game with updates as a reason to like it, though.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the only good character designs are Pyra and Mythra, the voices are terrible so the game practically forces you to play the Japanese dub (not that I'm complaining, I prefer subbed) the game drags and there's a fuckton of backtracking, and the combat system is horrendus

I quit when one of my friends told me to watch a Youtube video to understand how to efficiently use "links" or whatever they were in battles, and I thought it was ridiculous that I'd have to watch a video to understand combat for a JRPG, so I dropped it.
