Name a game you hate but everyone else loves - Because you have opinions too <3

CS:Source felt so open to new people and fun to fuck around in. With GO it feels the atmosphere needs to be serious at all times.
I think that had more to do with rankings and e-sports turning every teenager playing into a try hard who freaks over losing. There are youtube videos about the meta of where to throw pixel perfect flash bangs.

Such is the plight on online games where they try to push this very competitive nature even when they don't need to. Of course with Counter Strike it had years on something like Overwatch and League also had a steady build into its reputation the craze of that game went from the hot new thing to the batshit fandom where any new player will probably leave due to how insane people get if you don't click fast enough.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum the least out of all the mainline Pokemon games. I swear the nostalgia-blindness is enough for everyone but me to overlook the glaring technical problems that came with the first iteration of DS games as well as the slap-dash attempt at a plot. None of the online features even work anymore, so you can't even fall back on that excuse. I played it all the way to the end recently and don't understand what people see in these games.

DP is like my least favorite of the mainline Pokemon series too, fatal flaw being the slow speed and a lot of other issues. People liked it for the region being pretty good and I can see how but still gameplay wise, it's just a meh from me.
I'll raise you one better and say that most generations of Pokemon aren't that great. I've been a lifelong fan so I've played everything from GSC to SuMo and I have nostalgia for a lot of them, but the majority of main titles fall very, very flat.
If I had to pick a top 3 worst, it would be DPP, XY, then Sun and Moon/ORAS in order of least bad to most bad.

DPP is okay with me because it has some tough battles but it'll never match the Battle Tree in White 2.

People get butthurt when you say this stuff but I think we should just admit that a lot of us like the idea of Pokemon and the cute imaginary animals but the actual games leave a lot to be desired.
Off the top of my head, there's little replay value if you're not relying on a player-made challenge like Nuzlocke, they're extremely slow to get through (not just the beginning parts but the whole game), the writing is subpar and fails to make characters that you can care about (in fact a lot of the time they're just straight-up annoying), and they have been getting progressively easier.

They say Sword and Shield were supposed to be "disruptive" and take the series in a new direction but it looks really same old. And the starters are really ugly. But I'll probably buy it anyway... sigh

E: I also second the "Kingdom Hearts Bad" train
Curious, what would be your most favorite? GSC?

I like a lot of them for individual reasons, but I recognize that they're not the greatest games.

Used to love g5/g3 but after replaying some/all of their charm has worn off, respectively. Still have a soft spot for them but I won't complete whole playthroughs. Oh and Colosseum has an amazing soundtrack.

But if I had to pick a favorite it would be GSC, yeah. So many things went right with that game. HGSS suffered a little in some areas but excelled in others so I'm not sure how to feel about those, but the originals were top notch for sure.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl was the first Pokemon game I never completed. I fell out of the mainline series after that.

I'd be really into those games if they just had a turbo function. Something to help me throttle through battles and run a little faster. I know they're designed to be slow-paced on purpose, but come on.

But it doesn't matter anymore because Pokemon Go scratches that itch to collect a bunch of Pokemon anyway, so, braaaaaaaaaaaaaap

Borderlands series. Where I didn’t mind the gameplay, the writing is atrocious. I love stupid fucking humor, but Borderlands, to me, managed to make shitty meme-y toilet humor completely unpalatable. The fan base is rabid and obsessive, and for reasons I cannot understand.

Your the first person I've seen whose said they don't like borderlands, (finally I'm not the only one.) I hate a lot the stuff in borderlands, from gameplay to writing.
One of the things i hate the most are the characters, they all come off as jerks and all their interactions they have are just them being rude to each other, the only character i liked was claptrap and he's fucking annoying but to me he's better than anyone else in the game.
Also i never really understood the games plot but I'm guessing that the plot doesn't matter due to the game never taking it's self seriously.
Also the fans suck.

Any of the Assassins Creed games after Ezio. So repetitive.

Backstab, ariel stab, historical secret, side stab, sync point, backstab, oh noes bad guys are they Templars/ Illuminati probably. Meh.

I will admit though that the trailers tend to be pretty badass, and its neat that they are using Unity to help rebuild Notre Dame but thats as far as I will go in admitting anything positive.

If tabletop pen & paper games count as well, I'm not very fond of 5e D&D.

The mechanics are decent enough, and it seems like a good system to introduce newbies to tabletop (certainly better than 4e) but it really doesn't have much else going for it aside from being Baby's First Tabletop.

Purely anecdotal experience as well, but my dealings with 5e fans have soured me on the game as well. Most of them have come off as completely exceptional.

the Civsieries is also lacking alot. the older ones were fine, but the new ones have less features and dont look as good as they should. Its like a Browsergame you play on your PC.

I tried really hard to like Dragon Age: Origins, but I absolutely hate the fighting mechanics. I couldn't get further than a couple hours into the game until I actually took the game back to GameStop. I think it's the only game I've ever refunded in my life.

It's not a game but a genre. Zombie games and battle royale

Skyrim is basic bitch rpg tier. It completely neutered character customization as well. I tried, but I just can't get over how painfully dull and boring this game is.
It's more of a action adventure game than a RPG. You need to mod the fuck out of it to make it an RPG. Story is fine but there's issues with the voice acting of some characters such as guard dialogue that can take people right out of the game (they sweat you as much as the basses do, like for fuck sake's, you're supposed to be the "Dragonborn", some badass dragonslayer hero). Poor design choices when it comes to towns and the lack of monsters really hurts. The base game is bad overall, but it has everything there to make it a great game through modding.

Cyberpunk 2077

I realize that this hasn't been released yet, (people have been drooling over this game for a long time) but there was a rumor that Lady Gaga was going to be in it. And if she is, I am giving this game a hard pass. I can't stand that fucking poser cunt and I would rather slit my wrists with a teaspoon then purchase a game that she is going to get royalty kickback from. It also rubs me the wrong way that if she is going to be in Cyberpunk its a blatant marketing tactic. A game should be able to stand on its own without a "celebrity" propping it up. But whatever.
