Hate is a bit strong, but I definitely didn't like it. Red Dead Redemption.
I'm sorry, but this is the most boring open world I think I've ever played. The controls were a million times better than GTA IV (they even copied them for V), but it's still got that insanely boring 'realism' factor Rockstar has been obsessed with in the last few years, along with its beyond atrocious shooting. You either god-mode the game with auto-aim or die instantly because it's so bad otherwise.
Funny how many third person shooters I've played on console that never require auto-aim but Rockstar titles.
Again, I didn't hate it. The story missions were fun enough, the story was.... okay.... and it wasn't head-banging dull like GTA IV, but I could not wait to be done with it.
Maybe I would've gushed over it the same as everyone else if I had gotten to play it on PC with all the older GTA games that made me a Rockstar fan, but now.... wow, what a letdown considering the hype.
Considering too, the sequel is he most hyped game of this last year, I really don't know what to think. I'll try it, but I'm going in with low standards. The footage I've seen looks a little more interesting, but if it's more of the first, I doubt I can finish it. At least it'll be an easy resell.
But man, the rave reviews the first game got, when it's essentially just mediocre and a bit bland, really elevate my hate towards it more than anything. Seriously, not THAT good, and a pretty weak open world game for the time.
It's literally a ripoff of the anime series Elemental Gelade. Look at character designs or read a synopsis and you'll see it immediately.
