The book Freakenomics talked specifically about that name, it was originally an upper class Anglo-saxon name, that migrated into the trailer park very quickly. Ever since she heard about that fact she changed her name, not certain if it was every changed legally.

Anything that starts with E is cringe. Edward, Edith, Edna, etc.
