It sounds odd but it's a different skillset. There they were expected to react quickly to a completely new situation, whereas speedrunning (outside of searching for new tactics) is based around perfecting the execution of a completely known and understood system.It amazes me how bad they sucked at Mario Maker. I know cosmo said they never really played 2d mario much, but its really not tough to do a wall jump for anyone who is vaguely familiar with gaming. The game gives ample time to do it. Unlike frame perfect shit they had previously done in Zelda etc.
