I do wonder something. If the new Smash Bros is going to be the only thing that will save his life and give it meaning, why isn't he practicing at all?

He also prophesied that Breath of the Wild would save him and it didn't because he refused to speedrun competitive categories.

Given this, I don't know why he's excited to play a competitive online multiplayer game. He may have been a good Melee player, but he clearly doesn't have the drive or interest to learn and improve anymore.

I remember him saying something about lending his Wiiu to a friend who isnt a friend now and not wanting to set up emulators and figuring out netplay for the older smashs
He gonna refuse to play the standar ranking mode and make a set of shit meme rules, like, no smash bar, first to ... 12? or 6 or 10, some weird number

It's a disservice to the community that people in this thread keep calling him a good Melee player, because he never entered any tournament that mattered or got any kind of results. He was simply "not terrible".

You don't have to be an accomplished professional to be considered just "good" at a video game.

When put in the context of making a living from doing it, then yes, you do.

That doesn't make any sense. He's never been a competitive Smash player. He's a shitty streamer, and as an aside there's plenty of streamers who are shit at the games they play and make a living.

You're reaching way too hard to take a shot at him when there's plenty of other things to make fun of.

So I checked the stream, and one of the first things I hear is "Ugh, 16 days, hurry up November! All I want to do is psilocybin and Smash. And I can't even do drugs because of tolerance!"
This won't end poorly, right?

That's all Narcissa ever says.

Let me put it in context for you. If we pretend Cosmo had never played Zelda and become famous, but only played Melee at the level he did as a streamer, he never would have hit double digits. He tried being a competitive Smash player, actually, and did not do well.

This and streaming is all about charisma. You can dislike those popular idiots on twitch right now, but kids love them. This is all what matters.

Streamers famous for their skill alone is so rare, Cosmo was one of the few of this kind. He got so fucking lucky.

He's primarily been a speedrunner, though. By definition, that's competitive and the metrics for whether you succeeded at it are objective. There's no troon bonus or charisma buff.

It's not a reach at all. Narco is not just wanting to make a living off of smash, he believes it will completely change his life and give it meaning. He thinks as soon as he touches the controller and everyone sees his mad skills, people will flock to his stream and all will be well.

Obviously, this will go the same way as BotW, but that's delusion for you.

The only way I could see Cosmo actually gaining an audience with Smash is if he's sbsolutely god-tier (never happening), willing to shit-talk people and actually be entertaining (LOL) and most importantly, be able to stream on Twitch. Oh hey look, he burned that bridge too.

I guess he'll get 4 viewers for his Smash streams too for the first few days, then it's back to non-stop streams of him crying and farting while bitching that nobody wants to watch him because we're all just too intimidated by his huge galaxy sized brain.

Why is he obsessed with trying to get famous off games no one watches? As of this second, the most watched Smash streamer is a guy with 131 viewers. There are under 400 people watching it across all streams. People only really watch Smash when it's a tournament. I imagine there are a few pro players that make decent money streaming it, but I can't name any of them. It's a weird game - It's not enough of a fighting game that the FGC will watch it, but it's not enough of a Nintendo game that the average Nintendo fan will watch it.

If his brain wasn't atrophied from chugging soy all day, he'd go back to OoT since he was legendarily good at it and it's a really popular game for speedrunning.

The new one is guaranteed to be huge on Twitch for at least a few months after launch, possibly longer depending on how often they release new content. It's not going to stay huge forever but if you're entertaining and at least decent at the game it's a great way to gain a new audience.

Troons can't do that. They just scream and start threatening suicide at the slightest hint of shit talk. This is part of why they're boring unless you actually find it funny to watch them melt down.
