Narcissa is overly introspective and thoughtful about their situation, unnecessarily and unproductively so. The internal dialog and expression of said dialog clearly has not been doing them any good for the past few years. What Narcissa needs is external stimuli. Some kind of sounding board by which to measure and qualify everything that goes on inside their head. Being left alone with only your thoughts is a sure-fire recipe for insanity. Possibly the only one that there is.
