Apparently Bubba threw another hissy fit? Not even terribly newsworthy anymore but that won't stop the NASCAR redditors from malding over it.
Bubba has been having a really good year. I was disappointed in his reaction, but Alex Bowman didn't blame him. Nevertheless, a lot of these guys who get so emotional could take the example of Shane Van Gisbergen, who is always smiling and upbeat, no matter what happens.

What Alex Bowman Said About Contact With Bubba

It's been a while, but Nascar had another embarrassing showing at the Chicago meme track. I think someone was getting punted every 3 or 4 laps. Predictably, redditors still loved it because they haven't had to deal with watching things like the Nashville and Detroit meme circuits multiple times a year. It's actually scary how they've adopted Chicago as the hill they're all going to die on.

And Bubba tried to kill a guy. Again.

Actually one of the pit reporters said 'last week at Chicagoland' yesterday and I loled.

I think Bubba is at the hot seat rn, given the fact that Reddick already has a comfortable 3rd place in the standings. He might fell pressure from MJ and his mentor/groomer-to-be-douchier Denny Hamlim with him being in 15th place points standing. In the last two races however in Richmond he was able to get some stage points in the top 10 while finishing the outside of the top 10 by 2-3 positions, with this in mind it will be interesting to see how bubba will adjust. Will he pull through and make us wrong, or just be baby bubba. We will just see:

Better drivers could lose their rides this year. Having said that? No chance. He passively draws the big bucks for sponsorship. I don't think woke corps like Columbia or literal glowie ops like Leidos would be in Cup were it not for having a magical negro.

Now if you mean the playoff picture in general? Before the last race I'd have said he was out of it without a win, now it's looking way better. He could point in if he keeps out of trouble, which is more likely since I don't see anyone below the cut winning any time soon - doubly so if Busch is hurt in any lasting manner.

But he does like some wreckin' so chances are he'll stay out.

Dillon just dumped Hamlin and logano for the Dub that was crazy shit even though I don't route for Austin too much

Clip from twitter, Austin dumped Logano and Hamlin passed Austin, Austin then slammed Hamlin into the fucking wall and won it.
Edit: NASCAR's social media is calling it for Austin, cope and seethe Reddit and Twitter fags.

That is the funniest fucking finish I've seen in a long time, and the cope and seethe on social media is UNREAL. If you ask me, that was just AD taking back what was his after getting screwed by a late race yellow. I don't honestly blame him for it, Stenhouse being a dumbass at the end of the race and the existence of the Playoff system in general are more to blame if anything.

I'm on a youtube stream of a motorsports show taping right now and it's hilarious. Several people straight faced saying "He's disrespecting the 3! Dale wouldn't have done that."

The reality distortion field is strong with Earnhardt fans.

And you're right. Wrecky robbed another cool moment from us by just bein' him.

Edit: Worst take: "You need to stop this! the betting apps won't put up with it!" Good. If the degenerate gamblers leave motorsports alone I'm happy as a clam.

"I like Dale Earnhardt so everything he did was good and badass, I dislike Dillion so everything he does is evil and killing the sport."
I'm just permanently amused when people lay the biases that bare.

The radio stuff might get interesting.

DQ-desirers btfo. Not entirely of course, but I think the worst case is some sort of penalty.

NASCAR hates taking away wins. They have explicitly said so before. It's not impossible that they do something really really big in the penalty meeting but it goes against general precedent.

Taking out two of the most unlikeable drivers almost at once while in the 3 was one of the most incredibly, satisfying races finishes of the year.
My thought last night was that the only way to get the fans more behind it would have been if he'd managed to wreck a third unpopular car (saaaay the 23) then hopped out and yelled "3 for Dale!" into the mic.

Speaking of which every nog commentator in the space was big mad last night. I'm not sure why, Bubba wasn't gonna win it no matter what and he's above the cut now?

On that note, the playoff tracker on nascar.com still isn't right, though the general standings page is. I wonder if they forgot to remove the top-30 rule from the stats code when they got rid of it last year. (Today would be even more controversial had that rule still been in. Or maybe less, I dunno.)

Also good move having the pit crew run out to meet him (as Kenny Wallace said: just like the Flying Aces used to do) and his family. I think there would've been an, uh, incident on start/finish elsewise.

Update: They finally updated the playoff tracker with Dillon being 'in'. One (black) commentator I was watching last night was holding onto the slow update as cope that they'd DQ Dillon.

Now we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm thinking parked for a race and money.

If Dillion spun out Bubba people would be calling for him to be kicked out of the sport entirely, or at least way more than they currently are.

Double Post.
NASCAR has issued a penalty to Austin Dillion and the 3 Car after Richmond, his win no longer gets him into the playoffs and both the Team and Owner were docked 25 points.
Penalty Report on NASCAR.com, RCR plans to appeal the penalties.

Joey Logano was fined $50,000 for his wreckless driving on pit lane after the end of the race.
