There is no series where the MSM is quite as useless as NASCAR. Even F1 has people that won't toe the line. The mainstream media is not.

I think it's well known that NASCAR will yank the hard cards of journalists who don't adhere to the party line, so nobody wants to be the one that speaks out. Same with the drivers. The dreaded Actions Detrimental looms over everything. When the FIAs idiot dune coon president tried to institute a NASCAR-style Actions Detrimental rule, the drivers and teams collectively told him to fuck off and one of the member federations called for a vote of no confidence. In NASCAR, all the drivers not named Denny Hamlin or Kyle Busch just roll over and take it.There is no series where the MSM is quite as useless as NASCAR. Even F1 has people that won't toe the line.
The general reaction to the antitrust suit the media has of 'well everyone else signed the agreement' really opened my eyes. Yeah, two teams didn't sign, the rest did, except for one four-car op that folded rather than continue. That really is a ringing endorsement.I think it's well known that NASCAR will yank the hard cards of journalists who don't adhere to the party line, so nobody wants to be the one that speaks out. i don't believe that, how fucking cheap is it to shut down a city if an oval costs more? beyond that the amount of unused tracks over the years means they probably have a fuck ton of tracks they could use with a little bit of notice.I do understand the point of having these street races because it's a proven concept and tends to bring out it's own set of driving skills needed for those knife fight in a phone booth situations. It's also substantially cheaper than doing what NASCAR did in it's peak and build yet another cookie-cutter oval in the cheapest land near [insert desired market here].
Deadspin always posts clips of american events using the spanish broadcasts because the broadcasters are on the verge of orgasming the entire time. i feel we have enough spics in the US that know english for sports casters to be exclusively that.Fox switched to NASCAR while Indy had tech diff and I couldn’t help but tell that the broadcaster were bored of the race. Get these old fogeys out of there and try to make it exciting, Fox.
It's a matter of how much the local government likes the whole program. The organizer might not have to pay much if all they really need to do is get some barriers, grandstands and whatever other temporary structures they need for something like it. The street closures are done by the government and they are making a calculation if the weekend's blockage is worth the extra tourist dollars that the event's bound to bring, then they likely will keep it around. If the event flops, no big loss because they can find some other local government that sees the dollars in their minds.i don't believe that, how fucking cheap is it to shut down a city if an oval costs more? beyond that the amount of unused tracks over the years means they probably have a fuck ton of tracks they could use with a little bit of notice.
thats insane, so you're telling me any asshole with a million bucks can shut down the city of Chicago for their event? Imagine Destiny or Nick Rekeita doing thatedit: From a local news source, they report that NASCAR has to pay only 550 000 $ per event, plus 2 dollars for every admission ticket, and 15 percent of all catering related profits. I guess Chicago's government likes this event.
It's been multiple years and the wheels still come off and get close to rolling on the track. That's as dangerous as the cars giving people concussions when they hit the wall because they don't have crumple zones, and one usually leads to the other. Suspending crew members hasn't fixed the problem. You know what would? Having five lugnuts like a normal car. But I haven't heard a peep about it from the media, and whenever a tire falls off on the track or in the pits, which happens about once every race, even the commentators shrug their shoulders and the most they say about it is that the pit crew is getting suspended. That and the nextgen coverage. Everything bad is the teams, everything good is NASCAR, except when the bad things can't be denied then it's 'saving the teams from themselves'.
I still find it puzzling that they went that direction at all. Like, you'd think they wouldn't trade one of the iconic sounds of the sport (zwwwwwipzwipzwip of the air guns) for what? Slightly shorter pitstops? And you get this problem on top of it.It's been multiple years and the wheels still come off and get close to rolling on the track. That's the problem of taking a off-the-shelf solution. You cheap out on these things, it might not last as much as a bespoke solution. The solution to this is further development of the existing item to determine what's actually going wrong so that the krauts at BBS can bring a solution to this. Then again, this requires money to happen so the bosses might just say "fuck it, not enough of a problem".I still find it puzzling that they went that direction at all. What, the fact that cuck Denny's student caused a crash so he could start up front and got ahead of from everybody in the most cuckiest way possible. So about that ending...
Yeah that basically. I don't even know what to say about it. Whole thing's a clown show at this point. What, the fact that cuck Denny's student caused a crash so he could start up front and got ahead of from everybody in the most cuckiest way possible.
All that shit just for Denny to lead 3 laps and win. Really hoped Byron would have won, maybe even lead every single lap, but instead the hamster with a chip on his shoulder won.So about that ending...
I'm doing a blood sacrifice tonight so Austin Dillion wins it.Alright Talladega is next week who we pickin?
Even in the category of female racing drivers, she's shockingly bad. I can't think of a single other person who's been racing two decades, across multiple disciplines, and hasn't gotten any better than Natalie Decker level. In other lady news, Katherine Legge technically lead a lap in Xfinity today by staying out when lead lap cars were in the pit. She ended up with another DNF.
What drives me insane is how mainstream fans will warp reality every time. "It's just bigots who don't like her. She just needs more experience!"Even in the category of female racing drivers, she's shockingly bad. Oh boy. That's going to cause some controversy.View attachment 7288778Oh dear, that's the Charles Clymer pose.
