Greg, Cristina, Emma, and Ryder's deaths have been confirmed by the family.

Alongside the Biffles are Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth.
Various memorial posts are being made by NASCAR and others in the industry.

That's sad dude Rest in Peace Biffle. Even though he was mediocre at the Cups with 19 wins in his career, he still won championships in the Bush and Truck serries. I hope the pilot wasn't fucking Indian.

There were 3 people on the plane licensed to fly it, including Biffle I believe. Investigators don't know who was flying at the time, but it was one of the 3 licensed pilots. Not everything bad in the world is cause of Jeets.
While The Biff was a licensed pilot, he may not have held a 550 type rating precluding him from being at the control.

From what I understood Biffle was big with giving to when a Hurricane hit,
Biffle flew into the affected areas in his own private helicopter, while the Government sat around twiddling their thumbs. Did the same in Jamaica I believe. Biff was a honest to god hero, no one has anything bad to say about him outside of a few faggots going on about him secretly recording his ex-wife cheating on him.

Well I certainly hope he's turning big ovals in sky.

Cleetus McFarland, aka Garrett Mitchell, has posted 41 minute long video about Greg Biffle. Garrett was close friends with Greg, who had appeared in several videos on Mitchell's channel alongside being a mentor to Garrett in his ARCA series races. The video is largely Garrett's favorite moments with Biffle, though in the last 10 minutes he gets on camera to talk about Greg.
Garrett had been the first source to break the news that Biffle and his family was on the plane that crashed, as Greg and his family were flying to visit Mitchell at the time of the crash.

Jesus. I saw that this morning but the headline just said 'house Denny Hamlin owns' so I figured it was an empty vacation house or something.

The Frances better have a good alibi.

Bob Pockrass reports that Gaston County EMS confirmed Denny Hamlin's father, Dennis, died from his injuries. Denny's mom, Mary Lou, has been transferred to a Burn Center in Winston-Salem.

Steve Phelps has stepped down as NASCAR Commissioner. (This happened a few days ago but no one brought it up.)
On Monday (Jan 12th) at 3:30pm ET, NASCAR will announce the new Championship format. I already saw someone note that they said Championship and not Playoff, so maybe it is a massive change?

New format replacing the Playoffs was announced and it's a return to The Chase-style.

I would've preferred a season long points format that rewards extra points for winning races, but it's an improvement over the Playoffs.

Anyone who seriously thought NASCAR would jump from playoffs to full 36 race points was huffing too much copium. The Chase is, in my opinion, a good middle ground between the end of year race for the cup that the Playoffs prioritized, and a consistency based points system that doesn't award mediocre retards like Joey.
The new format has 16 drivers, no wildcards and no win-and-your-in, the last 10 races for Cup are Chase races. O'Reilly and Trucks have slight different variants of this base format.

It's a lot less illegitimate, at least.

Boomer NASCAR journos breathing a sigh of relief their constant meme of still calling it 'the Chase' is correct again.

It's probably the best that could've been reasonably hoped for.

I do think full season and getting rid of stage racing will happen when the series is fully on streaming in the USA. Or if the Frances lose control of the series somehow. I hope Mark Martin continues to be a voice for fans and common sense.
As a younger fan I'm really pleased about this, I'll be a kid again listening to MRN while building model kits and Jimmie Johnson mania will come back and Cartoon Network and Xbox will be good again
