I normally just lurk but this triggered me a bit and now it's time to sperg.

Fun facts about adding females to an already shipped game full of males, they would have to double up on skeletons, animations and motion capture sessions just to add the first one and not have it look stupid. They probably dont have the specialists to do that if they had all that work done for males years ago. If the game is published, then it's literally not the studios choice but the publisher's because they approve every estimated hour/day of work.

Male skeletons dont fit female models unless they have a male body, try it and the character will stretch and contort in wierd ways. Females also move differently, so if you just converted male animations to a female rig it would look stupid, like they're LARPing as a quarterback.

Same idea with voices and voice talent, quality female character models are generally considered harder to do but that's also easy to outsource or freelance and not really a problem.

This stuff only matters if your realism bar is higher than "cartoon", and the cost of doing it rises from there, tarkov is at least trying to keep that as high as they possibly can in unity.

A high IQ move in 2020 would be to just assign gender identities to each of their male models for zero cost, resetera jannies would be forced to purge any nay-sayers.

What's funny is that I'm pretty sure I've seen this model swap all over Troon Twitter and ResetEra multiple times over the last year since the dude posted the videos:

The opening blurb sounds reasonable. Of course, no wonder they are triggered, Murray is basically saying their post-modern take on the truth is full of it on a historical level and that they look at humanity with myopic lenses.

Even more amusingly, he's absolutely right. Race and gender (concepts they'd like to pretend don't exist except when they do find easier to use them for winning an argument) historically have delineated differences between all sorts of groups throughout history, sociology as a science hinges on this.

As for class being a function of privilege, it's the closest thing they have to a point and they still don't get Murray's counterpoint. Class is a distinction that is static in caste-based societies for the most part and more fluid in cultures where everyone has the potential to change their social status. True, some start off with an advantage in this regard, but to assume class is ALWAYS a function of privilege is to give the concept an overly narrow perspective.

The Bell Curve also has some crap they don't want to hear, like how Murray advocated for "equality of opportunity" (the chance to rise should be proportional to one's ability) should be preferred to equality of outcomes (the chance to rise should be given to everyone regardless of ability)


TL;DR: Bunch of people with narrow views losing their minds when told they might be wrong.

Yeah, this is wider than just ResetEra tho. I have noticed for quite a while, since 2013 tumblr era atleast, a very vocal and insanely obsessive subculture of "angry woke asian guys" abroad on the internet who are perpetually enraged at all the expected bandwagon causes, but are straight up ultra-incel aggressive on the subject of asian men like themselves being dismissed and rejected by both asian women in favour of white guys, and by white women because of their lil asian peckers. Basically imagine a bunch of Elliot Rodgers who took the left turn at Albuquerque.

What's surprising with that is Ron Paul used to be a moderator.
