NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

I can't remember if I've mentioned this before.

When gay marriage was legalized in the United States, Evilore changed the banner to a shaking rainbow flag. He's never done this before.

Less than two weeks later, Nintendo CEO and software pioneer Satoru Iwata passed away. The forum begged him to change the banner to reflect that. He said he would, but Nintendo spergs kept bugging him so he gave up and tried to make himself look like a victim.

US Gay marriage was more important to his video game forum than the death of a gaming icon.

I can't believe the moderation staff on /v/ is trying to direct people to /pol/ to discuss this. That seems like a monumentally stupid idea.

"Hey I know, let's completely, and I mean 100%, censor discussion on this controversial topic and force people to go elsewhere. What? You mean that exact thing happened 3 years ago? Lol who cares, it's ((Current Year))! Where should we send them? Ah hell I dunno, let's send them where a lot of Donald Trump supporters that work against corrupt, biased, left wing ideologues in media and elsewhere 24/7 hang out. It's not like many people who go there to fight them have a tendency to join them after a while. Perfect!"

Mainly I'm just annoyed I'm expected to discuss video game news with retards who got mad about Wolfenstein being about killing nazis.

>Crossing_Eden is still making the already shit site worse with each passing post
I don't understand. Crossing_Eden was 2nd place for worst poster after Lime and both haven't left.
why do they continue

I doubt it'll remain for long given there are no more moderators to protect them.

At least nobody is having to play pretend anymore.

Tyler doesn't need to hide his bog standard fratboy personality and lack of any kind of class.

The rest can finally stop talking about video games and can go create a radical trans rights and antifa forum with hairy Buddha besada as their gruppenführer. They should get at least 8 months out of that before he's inevitably outed as the next pedo rapelord too.

Realistically they're probably gonna infect the 4chins though, can't wait to see user name and mod power tripping on there.

From as far as I can tell, were these people seriously the only source of screeching about shit like Jon Tron and Nick Robinson and all that BS? I swear anytime I saw someone passive aggressively threatening people over behavior they disliked it always got tied back to NeoGaf in some way. I really hope all this video game virtue signaling bullshit dies with this website.

More like gropenfuhrer, amirite?

I really sympathise with the people complaining about /v/ here. It isn't exactly a cathedral of glorious discourse, but it's nice to go chat about relevant the industry topics in a place you like.

The decision of the mods to ban all discussion of this on /v/ in particular seems really fucking random. Even moreso given I actually hopped on the IRC to talk about it with some mods, and pretty much got banned after five rounds of a mod replying to every post I made with 'go to /pol/'

Doesn't help at all that /pol/ is nigh unmoderated and shitposters fuck up the neogaf threads there constantly. One fun thing people brought up was that gawker got a sticky when they died, it's seeming almost like a mod has some vested interest there. Not to get too tinfoily.

The best part is that no community would actually block them from entering, the neogaffers just wouldn't handle normal discourse between people. And either sperg out at mods not banning the evil person who said "I disagree" or just silently leave.

What I think will happen is that it's users will split up into different communities, some will handle opposing opinions better than others and adopt to a slightly less hugboxy site, some won't, etc.
Doesn't this mean this'll give more opportunities for more cow sightings?

GameJournos who work at Polygon/Kotaku/Vice (Waypoint) will generally mirror the political opinion of NeoGAF. Including the Nick Robinson and the JonTron stuff. It's not really that one influences another, but rather the resulting self-selection of GamerGate community schisms.

That begs the question, what will happen when Neogaf inevitably dies?
