They've actively marketed it to themselves. If the OT thread had been allowed to stay up and the specials had just avoided it then it would have passed by and the attention going to another game shortly after. As is they Streisand'd the entire thing and blew it up so then they all went looking for stuff to throw at it and were actively posting advertising material for the game on their own forum. They made it so it was the only game they could think of and they saw the rest of the world enjoying it so could not ignore it any longer. Basically they played themselves.

What's funny about this is the game seems totally normal. Like really normal. I'm installing it now but all the reviews I've read is it's just a blend of The Witcher/GTA/Assassins Creed and some sci-fi from Mass Effect before it shit the bed.
Mixed with pretty graphics and the lore of Mike Pondsmith.
Seems gender and trans shit hardly comes up, so all the reeeeing for months this was a game made by Nazis just leaves Resetera looking even more unhinged than normal.
Everyone normal is going to play this and whether they agree with the review scores or not the game is in no way going to upset them
"I'm enjoying it from a mechanical perspective"
More excuses to try and still be on the side of "This game is a troon killing simulator"

And golly, astro can't say no to that, so they'll make that sacrifice and reluctantly play Cyberpunk 2077 despite really not wanting to, you guys. And, well, astro will already be playing it so they might as well share their experience with ResetEra. Because the friend's non-binary wife asked astro to, not because they wanted to play the game, no sire.
But curiously, I noticed astro says their friend actually bought the game despite being aware of the issues. Oh dear, astro, that's a huge red flag.
