NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Morrigan is like that. She always tries to bait people into arguments, even the people that agrees with her.
The goal is to get the other people shamed or worked up enough that she can gang up on them, invite her friend mods to the discussion and get them permabanned.

That is all she does, that is the only thing that gives her purpose and meaning, getting other people baited and then permabanned.
The site Gematsu is full of people like her that have a similar MO. Really makes you think why would people bother with posting on retardera.

So an ex-Blizzard employee called Geoff Frazier has decided to sell his work-obtained paraphernalia, and far-leftist wokester Jessica Gonzalez, one of if not the figurehead of the unionist movement at Activision Blizzard (although she no longer works there now) has decided to "expose" his discord messages on a server called "Right Wing of Gaming".

This is the evidence for his supposed crimes (and I do recommend reading what he says):

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm not seeing "sensitive information" or the like of ists and isms. Maybe that's in screenshots she's not sharing, or maybe because there's no evidence of that. I err toward the latter.

Doesn't seem like this Frazier guy is some kind of workplace role model, but by what he's saying, the social justice locusts have hollowed out Activision. Big surprise? No. What is weird is that last thing he says. "Ratting people out to the government". What direct channels does she have to the government?

The California DFEH that's currently trying to bilk money out of Activision did indeed partake in investigative misconduct according to the EEOC, and I hear California's acronym departments are generally aggressive in their liberal crusading, getting worse, even.
wait so

what's the exact proof she has that links the guy to those posts? better yet, how does she have those screenshots? this entire thing sounds kinda suspicious to me.

Talk about triggered jannies, our boy Ray is spot on

Sure, the devs tried to "tone down" Aloy a little because of trannies and drowned rats like Morrigan crying, but the above picture does resemble Aloy.

Bonus points for mentioning Bayonetta, the trannies favorite character (legitimately, you slay drag queens!). But you can't say that when Morrigan is around, white drowned rat females > MtF trannies on the oppression olympics totem pole.

They only like Bayonetta because she's 7 feet tall and towers over everyone like Brianna Wu does.

For sure, MINING for crypto currency, searching random number space for hashes that match some criteria IS very computationally expensive and DOES consume vast amount of energy, a lot of it coming from say coal-powered plants, and that process MINIG is likely hurtful for the environment.
But, shocker, they are retards and do not understand the technology.
NFTs does not use mining. They just use the same or similar blockchains to track ownership of a token, just like your bank keeps track of how much of the money is owned by you and belongs in your bank account.

Now as they are retards, they think BitCoin mining is using vast amount of energy and is bad, the actual ownership of the bitcoin tokens are stored in a ledger/blockchain, therefore blockchain is also bad, and because NFTs use blockchain to store ownership NFTs are bad too.
Just fucking retards that have no idea about the technology but are just running their NPC script.

TL;DR
Mining bitcoins != running a distributed ledger of ownership
And how do you think these transactions are stored on the blockchain? Through mining. Mining is the process of adding new transactions to the blockchain.

No. That is not how the blockchain works.
Mining is the process of finding a random number that hashes to a special magic hash. It is similar to brute force trying to (almost) reverse a hash algorithm.
The blockchain is not part of that at all.
ONCE you have managed to mined/reversed a hash, then you can store that "you discovered this/you mined this/you own this" using a completly different technology called blockchain, or in human-speak a distributed ledger.

And just like how, after you have MINED a new bitcoin you can store it into this distributed database, you can also store other things in a similar kind of database. Things that are numbers but are not generated by mining, such as NFTs.

You have no idea of what you are talking about. Go back to your face-book mums group.
Please try to learn how these technologies work before you try to talk about them.

Look, retard. You can store bitcoin ownership in a normal SQL database instead of a blockchain if you want to do so. (But it would be centralized and not distributed).
That does not make SQL databases depend on mining. Retard.

EDIT: In laymens terms, think of blockchain as being a simple key-value store with a large number of replicas (that are not strictly kept in sync,) and where consistency is provided by quorum. Nothing to do with mining at all.

The real fun thing is going to be once transsexuals' become prominent enough in sports it's going to trickle down to games and the MTF are going to have to share the same animation rig as the regular males.

You haven't read the Bitcoin whitepaper, have you? Because it quite clearly states what mining is:

Mining is the process of finding a random number that, when inserted into the next block in the blockchain, gives the block a magic hash. Furthermore, when a new bitcoin is created through mining, it is immediately stored in the blockchain alongside all the others. Bitcoins do not exist independently of the mining process.

The bitcoin whitepaper is relevant for bitcoin, not for NFTs because they store different things in the database.

You explain to me then:
IF I want to mine a new bitcoin and store it, it will take (optimistically) hundreds of days on my laptop, to do just one single bitcoin.
IF I want to create and store a new NFT, it takes me seconds.

Why does one thing take about a year and another take a second if they are doing the same thing?

How is NFT minted? Is it just a hash of the file that is stored in a ledger?

NFTs are built off of the Ethereum blockchain, which works by the same principles. ETH is in the process of transitioning to a more energy-efficient validation method, though, so good for them.

Because there are millions of computers all over the world trying to drink at the one fountain of Bitcoin production, which is designed to become less and less as time goes on. Many of them are using stolen or state-provided electricity. There's no way you can compete.

IF I want to create and store a new NFT, it takes me seconds.
You have to pay a substantial fee to get something on the ETH blockchain in a few seconds.

Why does one thing take about a year and another take a second if they are doing the same thing?
They aren't the same thing, but they are complimentary. Either you get crypto by validating other people's transactions, or they get crypto by validating yours.

LOL no, it's actually the URL of the image stored on OpenSea's servers. They can take it down if they feel like it.

I guess that's why when I searched "how are nft's minted" the top results I get are telling me to make accounts endorsing their own websites and upload my shit, rather than anything that describes the process in plain terms.

I do see value in a technology that denotes ownership of a digital asset that is decentralized. Sounds like most of the louder proponents of the tech want the exact opposite, to centralize it directly in to their own pockets. Maybe that's a dumb take, IDK anything about it.

Hooray, I own a URL that I have no control over and probably won't exist in 2 years!

I just wanna see someone fed up with tranny Era make a shitpost thread with a bunch of “You will never be a woman” lines. Would be funny watching those ghouls freak the fuck out.

I’ll never be convinced that nfts are anything but retarded.

"I find it uncomfortable playing leading titles like Tomb Raider, Genshin Impact or Bayonetta, all of which feature female characters in skimpy outfits."

How the fuck is Lara Croft's outfit "skimpy"? It's a sleeveless shirt and some long khaki pants. And that's toned down from her previously modest tank top.

Some idiots will not be happy until every female lead character is wearing a parka and JNCOs. We can't have people even wondering what the character's figure might be.
The funny thing is the person making this argument at Bloomberg about how uncomfortable they are is a 40+ year old dude. The ERA thread has posts literally dismissing the opinion of women mocking him for (they claim) being "alt-right" and so on. They handwave the fact that Bayonetta was designed by a woman because her boss was male.

The progressive stack, intersectionality, etc. all thrown out the window so that dudes uncomfortable by "sexy" women video game characters (and Morrigan) can speak over women in this case.

Yes you are correct, NFTs are mined which makes their creation very energy intensive. Luckily they are switching the system to staking to make things much more efficient.

Bitcoins will still need to be mined though because that is how new ones are minted.
