There are tons of threads that have this sign in front reading "ACHTUNG, MINEN " or "Surrender all hope, ye who enter here" or any variation of it. But this one takes the cake, who in their right mind would wander in there and expect not to be beset by troons and mods the second they type something in the reply window?

So tiresome seeing Resetera-types get this philosophical concept confused. Objectification isn't good or bad, it's just a fact of subjective experience. Everyone experiences life as a subject acting on objects in their own universe of perception. You don't get to complain that other people see you from their own perspective instead of experiencing your entire subjective life themselves, that's not a reasonable expectation. It's just become this empty phrase they repeat, "male gaze," like you automatically have made a winning argument if you just invoke that string of words.

Vex is going to make himself miserable, but he's right about the level of shame he should feel about posting on Resetera.

"Hostility towards everyone" does accusing large groups of people of being misogynists count as hostility? Does saying you want them all dead or to not enjoy any fun even in a fictional setting hostile?

"Generalizing groups, people, or fandoms" so accusing them of being creeps and perverts then?

"Accusations of censorship" does this apply to someone who's pro-feminist? Or someone/something that IS being censored?

"Arguments of who can and can't discuss this topic" so people who disagree with you then, such as women who find fanservice sexy and empowering, should get an opinion then?

"Dismissing or handwaving legitimate issues" so in other words disproving angry, seething rants and medium-wide accusations with positivity and solid evidence?

"Using this thread to whine about feminism or liberal views" who on ResetEra is whining about them? ResetEra is groupthink, the forum. And I'm not whining about them, they've worked overtime to get The Far Right elected in several countries over the past decade.

Fortunately, these discussions will mean nothing as their purpose is to directly influence other people's content to revolve around them. Japan recently pushed back against the United Nations, what hope do a bunch of random English speakers on a heavily-controlled niche forum have, especially as DEI freebies are starting to slip away?

The rules of Restera are simple: do not disagree with the groupthink.

It's not like people don't, because every time there's some sort of poll the loonies are shown to be a minority, but if you express any disagreement about what constitutes racism or sexism or a reasonable response to seeing a bikini-clad female character you're going to see one of those messages.

Wrap it up, the tribe has spoken. Daniel Green has been judged in the court of public opinion, and justice is swift.

After the accuser makes another video posting more communications between herself and Green, the narrative starts to shift.

Green released another video where he apparently manages to refute the allegations in some detail. (I've watched none of these videos, though I'm familiar with Green just from watching Booktube stuff.)

I do hope that thread at least peaked a few Reseterans about how maybe cancel culture can go too far, even by their standards.

Tbf, I noticed this when I was like 10. Anime "humor" is usually really bad.
And I've come to find a lot of what I thought was funny from like DBZ, Pokemon, Sailor Moon was more due to the localization than the original.
I don't think it's necessarily a humor disconnect with Japan in general (I've seen good humor in Japanese skit shows, slapstick, and also in video games) but Anime Humor specifically tends to be shit.

Agreed. An example would be Full Metal Alchemist: Botherhood. It is the allegedly GOAT of every anime normie, but that shit has so many cutely drawn anime humor cutaways in every episode it leaves a big shitstain on the whole series.
