it's shit like this that makes resetera way more entertaining of a shitshow, particularly because, unlike the neogaf moderation, it's not nearly as easy for them to fuck with people's careers irl

And of course, only the thread shitters respond to that first guy, but I'm sure if they were even more offensive in their attacks the mods wouldn't mind. Though if I recall right, calling someone an asshole in any other context if you aren't a mod or protected member also gets you banned.

2018 is indeed off to a great start. Day 1 of the entire fucking year and I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY considering firmly believing that ResetEra won't even survive to the year's end without becoming such a dystopian shithole that all but the most loyal, dick sucking members leave. People are legitimately afraid to even post there anymore because saying the wrong thing even unintentionally gets you instabanned by mods who are jerking it to the power they hold.

Considering the fact that you can now be banned on ResetEra for calling the mods out on allowing politics to be inserted into game discussion and their banning sprees, I would wager something in that context, if not exact wording, can be expected in the near future.

I'd say they should drop the act and just make it a far-left political board outright, but then they wouldn't have flashy vidya gaymes to keep their crippling autism in check

I actually don't understand why they call themselves a gaming forum(if they do, real talk, fuck if I know because I never really go there)when what little I have seen on visits showed me that they talk about many things that aren't video games and insert politics into everything, including video games. On top of being an easy way to get you banned on ResetEra, the argument I've seen posted infrequently that no one can just have a game discussion without politics and trans crap involved is one of the truest statements I've ever heard. You literally can't have a discussion on there about a game without someone bringing up something 'problematic' with it.

The really crazy thing is, as has already been proven in a post just recently, there's no escape. If you try to discuss a game there and members ask you about how you feel about offensive topics, some of them are members who won't be banned because they suck up. Going by the one solid example above, if that kind of thing keeps happening, we'll see situations regularly pop up where someone tries to discuss a game and is dogpiled by members trying to discuss 'problematic' topics in a way that condemns them, and trying to argue against that or even just take the neutral ground of "Please don't discuss that, focus on the game" will guarantee you a ban. The only other option will be to ignore the comments completely and try to focus on the subjects you want to talk about, which could still result in a ban, or just stop posting entirely.

And the people running the site see nothing wrong with this.

Just another reason why ResetERA's a shittier version of NeoGAF. With GAF, there were at least some topics dedicated to specific games or franchises, and those managed to stay on topic the vast majority of the time. ERA has such a boner for SJW bullshit that it's practically impossible to have a discussion about a game without the usual suspects derailing it, and trying to get it back on track means risking a ban by the insane mods.

When it comes to discussing games, ResetERA might just be one of the absolute worst options you can pick.

I look forward to the day that resetera's population is nothing more than 0 regular members and 12 "mods" who have nothing left to actually moderate and just sit around all day whinging and felating each other about how correct their opinions are and how awful it is that people in the wider world are still allowed to carry on their lives without fearing the jackboot of the liberators who ride the right side of history, permanently vexed at their inability to affect anything. It'll be like a micro-simulation of the heat death of the universe.
