You can probably blame the recent hysteria over the userbase being more split on the Price nonsense than the mods would like. You see, despite being a forum, the mods only want one viewpoint that they approve of in their topics, and seeing users that are indifferent or even in agreement over Price being fired makes them a little unhinged, and their only way of "correcting" that issue is to ban vast swaths of the userbase.

Going by how much their site traffic has tanked, you can see that the mass purges won't end well in the long term.

So...resetera is was basically a money grab by a group of mods with a personal crusade agenda....did anyone actually do any digging around the showergate stuff...seems a bit strange how it lined up perfectly with the other events.??

Also...probably not a lot of people know about these events and what's really going on...what would be the best way to spread this info you think??? ...or is it mjpopcorn.gif and enjoy the show.

On the one hand it is hilarious to see the SJW/Feminist crowd unable to control themselves. It is obvious that the correct strategy for them was to just take the L and move on as quickly as possible. With Jessica Price any normal person can see within seconds what a manifest piece of garbage she is with her own words and actions. And being fired from other companies for the very same vile behavior just makes it more obvious to normal people/outsiders.

I believe much of the over the top bannings and lashing out is actually the SJW/Feminist anger at Jessica Price herself for 'making them' support her for what was a completely pointless social media tirade. They see Price's wasting the 'mansplaining/manbaby incel attacks strong talented womyn' card on something so trivial makes it that much harder for they themselves to pull the very same card on their own social media fights.

There's evidence to support that the entire thing was an attempt to grab NeoGAF from Evilore and when that failed, a cashgrab. Not much regarding Showergate has actually emerged, meaning the whole thing was mostly a wet fart and the whole thing was outrage and stupidity on the part of NeoGAF's (and now ResetERA's) mods.

All we can really do is laugh at it. Evilore is sort of an asshole and ResetERA is damned to destroy itself. The only question is when.

It was a very blatant hostile takeover attempt, furthermore, during the implosion, someone tried to use the people who were prominent posters in this very thread as a personal army, handing us some weird exploit to fuck up the pages by making specific kinds of posts, I have zero doubt that particular autism was coming from the ResetEra group, who were clearly using every possible avenue to fuck up NeoGAF and prop-up their new hugbox.

One thing to add here is that even after a new skeleton crew was assembled by Tyler after the mod team's departure, someone betrayed him again and banned hundreds of people.

This is a different thing from the BishopTL post-Trump massacre and the Gamergate banning sprees.

I suspect that you're right. These defenses work if there's at least some smoke, like a Pepe avatar calling you names. This had nothing. They'll defend her on social media because there's a line they have to tow. But this pointlessly alienates allies. We'll see how often they promote her work or help her find a job. The sharper SJWs know this has terrible optics and will quietly shut her out of their clique.

From what I recall, it was actually found out that the person who accused Tyler of assault went on to have a relationship with him for a few months.
