If there's any demographic that comes the closest to "controlling society", it's obviously the demographic that buys the most, because money talks and bullshit walks, right? But so far, every study has proven that demographic is women, not men.

The new font looks pretty good Crunk, I wish there was an easier way to color-code warnings apart from bans, but they sometimes redtext without doing either so that messes things up. This Filip Muicin plagarism drama is pretty good here and around the web; they ban for criticism of game journos but then one comes along that's completely indefensible:

I think meeting them gave me a little epiphone that I want to get across here.

I don't believe I traumatized these two and put them into I-can't-even red alert. The way they talk online you'd expect it, but while I'm sure they were annoyed and probably made snide remarks about me after I left, I don't think I actually shocked them. I wouldn't count on seeing mention of any hostile encounter over there. I believe the opposite - that I was quite forgettable to them.

I think these people really honestly believe that the nazis are everywhere and want to murder all lgbtpoc people - but the filter bubble mentality, being a combination of "all good people agree with me" and "all dissenters naturally get banned without need for me to intervene personally" means that when they go outside and don't encounter unmistakable violent threats to their lives, they assume everyone they see thinks just like them until proven otherwise. You see the same phenomenon of assumptions among voters in general - Minnesota is seen as a progressive blue state, and the twin cities gayer than San Francisco, so a lot of folk here don't even comprehend how many Trump voters they accidentally cross paths with on a daily basis, despite the numbers showing Hillary only took this state by a razor thin margin. No matter where you guys live I'm sure you have similar stories of running into people who are shocked at the suggestion that a neighbor or coworker or the milkman may have voted for cheeto hitler. They look at their feelings, not at the facts.

So here we're getting to my personal epiphone: you know the stereotype of dumb redneck hicks? The ones who are inbred and chase niggers in their trucks and believe the flat earth is only 6,000 years old? Those people exist. I think we all accept they do. But the resetera crowd is the exact same thing on the left. Maybe I can't impart how true this feels to me now because we've been saying forever how anti-intellectual and irrational they are but until meeting some in person, I don't think I fully understood just how much trouble their minds have with simple logic. I could see the gears of frustration turning with my own eyes.

What I am saying is, these people are more than spoiled, childish, privileged, angry. These people are quite thoroughly fucking stupid. If they cut their teeth in rural Kentucky instead of in a college campus, they'd be fucking their sisters and hating niggers instead of trooning out and telling white people to self-crit.

They are promoting shitty narratives out of a desire to control the world only in part - the rest is that they truly are sheep. The phrase "useful idiots" in relation to how socialist power grabs function means so much more now.

I think I was forgettable because I was polite and didn't yell and didn't misgender. But I have managed to exchange information with people who disagree with me on all manner of subjects, and I don't believe I exchanged information with them. I leave others with disagreements all the time but I still feel confident those people walk away at least having an awareness that my beliefs exist. I'm not sure these ones even retain that concept.

I don't think these types are drawn to resetera because they've tasted knowledge and find it too bitter. I think the people over there are more fundamentally broken than most.

I can try to sort them but it's just imperfect because I have to do it with regular expression and mods are super inconsistent. The graphs generate on the idea something is only a ban if it excludes the word "warn" while including the word "ban", this is to deal with mods saying shit like "User Warned: Next time will be permanent ban". But this is an issue if mods say something like "(4320 Earth-Minute Suspension: (User Banned) | I fucking warned you)"

This would be a lot easier if the mods had any degree of standardization in their formatting. I bet you could figure out who is behind what actions based on their reason formatting. Don't get me started on red text. Mods layers of formatting within redtext, or nesting redtext within other formatting, and some of them break up their red-text into multiple sections, and all sorts of craziness.

In regards to Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, I think the publishers had some idea that the game was sort of mediocre in comparison to its predecessor, and thought that using the "Nazi" controversy when marketing it would help it sell more copies (not necessarily a ridiculous idea, controversy helped make Grand Theft Auto the juggernaut that it is).

Unfortunately, when word of mouth got out about its mediocrity and short length, the game sort of fizzled out (because big surprise, the "Punch a Nazi!" folks are only into vocal support). Moral of the story, don't rely only on controversy, focus on making a better game as well.

That doesn't skew the study, it's the whole point of it. Men make money and women spend it. Sure there are households where the man retains strict control over the money and allows the wife to purchase things, but that number has drastically shrunk over the past 30 years, and even when it was the case that the man controlled the finances, assuming he wasn't abusive, the woman still made the actual purchasing decisions.
