I would've though resetera considers UKIP "nazis", but I guess they are okay provided they are doing something in Era's interest.

That ResetEra guy claiming diversity is inherently good is wrong, but oversimplifying things and overlooking complex sociopolitical and cultural factors for the sake of claiming the *exact* opposite doesn't seem that much better imo.
That might sound harsh but sometimes threads seem to devolve into light political discussions that don't have much to do with mocking the subject's stupidity. It doesn't happen all that often, especially in this thread, but I felt like bringing this up.

This person is actually saying that Sakurai giving fans what they have wanted for so long is terrible. I have never in my life seen someone so fucking ignorant in my life.

"Sakurai is doing what fans want and not what he wants" Yes, because I'm fairly certain that Sakurai wanted Greninja, who was explicitly shown off to him behind closed doors in 2012 for him to make a moveset pitch for him to be in Smash 4, and that Lucas* and Roy and Corrin who were put in Smash to promote their upcoming games.

"Nintendo fans are a whiny nostalgic bunch." He says, complaining about a Newcomer who debuted like not even half a decade ago.

"Sakurai is bending to the whim of his fans" No he's fucking not. He's outright said he, like other Smash games, is treating this like his last, which is why your stupid ass is able to play as your "old mains." Also lol, they're claiming three characters are in just because "the fans want them in"? Get bent, loser. The man can do what he wants.

"Cry loud enough and beg hard enough and your character WILL get into Smash" That was what the ballot was for. Literally, the ballot was used in the future and Sakurai has stated this in Famitsu.

"Every Character so far has been WIDELY requested by a loud niche audience, and it’s hurting the fun." Those words do not mix at all. Also, K. Rool has constantly and consistently been a candidate people have wanted even in Melee and Brawl's time.

"I’d rather have random Echo’s like Lucina and Ricther over Dark Samus and Chrom." If you can't spell a character's name correctly while bitching about a roster, your argument should be invalidated.

"The general gaming audience doesn’t give a fuck about an ugly Crocodile King that hasn’t been relevant since the early 2000’s. You just happened to know who characters who legitimately have not appeared in regions due to unavailability. Fuck off.

From what it looks like he seems to want the "general gaming audience" into Smash Bros.

As a person who brought Smash every Thursday to college, I can confirm to you right now that Smash Bros. is already a pick up and play game. Even non gamers have come in to play.

Funny how he is whining about Sakurai bending his whim to the fans when he's wanting Sakurai bend to his whim because literally no one else thinks like this.

I don't know, but some possible reasons.
  1. They genuinely think it's somehow harmful or makes women not want to play games at all.
  2. They are mad their favourite didn't win.
  3. It's popular and taking away attention from "woke" media.
  4. They see it as low brow, and thus ruining their vision of games are an intellectual artistic pursuit.
  5. These games don't have approval from the self-appointed gatekeepers/"the clique".
  6. It's GamerGate and/or Trump somehow.
