By the time you get to high school and maybe college you usually develop better taste in anything related to fiction that tackles serious themes be it a work of fiction about a dictatorship, a horror thriller, a comedy, and so on.

Normally teenagers on the verge of adulthood and normally functioning adults start enjoying books like The Republic, Animal Farm, The Catcher in the Rye, 1984, All Quiet on the Western Front, Brave New World, The Odyssey, The Canterbury Tales, and so on. The ResetEra community on the other hand is still stuck in their preteen years back when Harry Potter and Goosebumps were all the rage and refuse to move on to better quality books and among other things as well.

Current SJWs on Harry Potter: Fantastic Beasts 2 is problematic because of Johnny Depp (ignore all the new stuff - most of the mainstream press seems to have done so) and that the snake turned out to be an asian woman (something something representation doesn't count if they become evil or something). JK Rowling is problematic because she liked a pro-woman tweet by someone who had also made 'transphobic' tweets in the past, and that no matter how much she points out Dumbledore was gay that because she didn't have him butt-fucking in the book then it doesn't count as the gay representation they so desperately want.

The fact that people often look back with a certain amount of disdain at the passions of their youth, rejecting them as childish (as opposed to the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia), doesn't seem to factor in to their thinking.
