NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

These people should realize that, even if they do manage to survive this and just ignore it, that their influence on the gaming industry will probably dissapear completly, as they have no moral high ground anymore.

Whenever someone reads an article with a source of ResetERA, they will jokingly say "oh, the child diddlers? Dropped."

From now on, they will reeee into oblivion.

Everything about this scandal is really just pure irony.

Now let's be clear here, ResetEra is the same website that goes on moral crusades over video games and other media on things they find problematic. This is the same forum where:
1. They see websites like 8chan as alt-right and pedophile havens.
2. They hate attractive women in video games because they see this as sexist.
3, They attack lolicon and shotacon content because they think this encourages sexualizing children.
4. They attack video game developers that create teenage video game characters and they just proceed to call them 'creeps' for creating them.
5. They hate anime video games in general because they see this as content for sexists and pedophiles that go on 8chan.
6. They have no problem labeling those being right-wing to be pedophiles also.
7. They have no problem slandering people that doesn't adopt their batshit crazy far-left beliefs.
8. They have no problem destroying other people's lives too.
9. They will attack anime in general because they see it as content for the alt-right, sexists, and pedophiles too.
10. They like to start moral crusades over stupid shit that doesn't really matter.

Do you see the pattern here? The more that a moral busybody attacks someone or something and then try to claim the moral high ground afterwards then the more likely that they are going to be that very thing that they attack and sometimes end up being worse than the thing that they are attacking.

Now think back to the 1980's where televangelists would use to preach that Dungeons and Dragons was a thing that would send kids to Hell but if you then donate money to these same televangelists then your kids will be okay. Later on these same televangelists would get caught doing things that they were not suppose to be doing and people just stopped listening to them over the course of time.

The lesson to be learned here is that those who lead a moral crusade to try to gain power and influence are almost always pieces of shit themselves.

Evilore told a story years ago on Neogaf about him smacking some random broads ass at a bar and how she liked it. This story was 1000% worse than the shower story. The shower story reaction is bizarre because there is no way to make that out to a sexual harassment or assault like it was portrayed. The user base did not revolt over the bar story because they had nowhere else to go and they knows that no one else wants them. Resetera's mindset is to ignore things unless they can make a dramatic uproar over it and feel like they have a "win". There is no "win" for them in this scenario. No other forum wants to hear their suicidal ideation threads. This is why they don't stop with the THQ 8chan thing. They have to have a win.

I doubt that they can bury this forever.

Much like what happened with Channel Awesome a while back, it will probably take a few more days before more and more independent voices begin to start talking about this that will get much of the Internet to talk about this also.

I think we could see ResetEra implode very soon and this time I don't think anything will save them anymore. Once these accusations grow so big that the ResetEra mods and admins can no longer do any damage control anymore then by then both the ResetEra staff and their users will from that point on bear their own Mark of Cain to the rest of the Internet that they are nothing but pedophiles and pedophile apologists too. I think it's now over for ResetEra as a whole.

This is the same website that banned someone for advocating against zoophilia. Nepenthe banned the person and called it kinkshaming.
