The industry at large does not. Decision makers like Bobby Kotick do not. But individual developers/artists/translators sometimes do simply because of the gravity of Silicon Valley's politics. Even the devs who have posted like Skyrim wake up though when they fail purity tests and get de-verified. NeoGAF had more power and clout in its prime, ResetEra parody and call-out accounts and videos get more hits and traffic than legitimate users.

Well, if we look at it critically when game devs do trans characters they have to make them look like... women. So, they basically are women and they just say "Oh, this character is trans!". By any standard metric you look at the character and it just seems like a good looking woman that maybe has some muscles (muscles are transphobic to Resetera though).

The hilarious catch 22 for troons is if they wanted a video game character to look like a real troon then... they'd look like a man in a dress or have to have a big penis bulge, Cyberpunk style, to make it known.

But then that is classed as transphobia because the character looks male



But making the trans character look really feminine/pretty is also transphobia because it dehumanizes the real life fat/bald men in dresses most troons look like



The safest option is therefore for a dev just to make a character you'd say was female if it was in any other game, but this specific game you slap the trans label on them for wokeness. You'll still get called transphobic no matter what you do, but going down the penis bulge or manly route is far more dangerous for PR.

Everything is transphobic on Resetera, so what the fuck can you do anyway? My suggestion, ignore troonery, it causes more issues than it's worth and while this lot are pumping hormones into 7 year olds we really should be more concerned about that.
