Just to add some context to how unbelievably moronic this dude truly is, Bolsonaro didn't say anything bad about northeaster people. He called them a local slang which is hard to adapt, but perhaps a somewhat appropriate version would be calling southerners "rednecks". It's less offensive than that depending on who you ask, but it's just an informal way of talking about people from a certain place. He said that on a completely off-camera moment on a private conversation that somehow leaked. It's like that one Trump story about shithole countries, but even stupider.
