Evilore has done this multiple times in the past. The problem is that there's always a huge gap between his culling of the socjus morons, so by the time he does it again, another herd have already found there way to the site.

Most mods on NeoGAF are selected based on how much time they spend on the GAF IRC channel. Back in the heyday of the channel, you had some of them who spent 16+ hours a day on it. So that weeds out anyone with a meaningful job or a social life. So yeah, the kind of nerds who would spend 16 hours a day on IRC would be the type to be a powertripping nerd who wants his own fief of nerds to lord over. The old mods and admins were based on being an inner circle of Gaming Age writing staff but almost all of them have stepped down, banned, etc.

To make this even sadder and for a comparison, even the GamerGhazi subreddit is more rational about the JonTron in A Hat in Time controversy than NeoGAF.

NeoGAF is still screeching away about Jon.

Complaints aside about them thinking Jon have more subscribers is bad, it really is sad when the autistic counterpart to an autistic GG board is being more rational than a forum of people thinking a game is shit/unplayable for them just because JonTron hasn't been removed.

This is because they keep autistically banning people who are probably the hardcore gamers in the forum.
