NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

I seriously can't tell if these are jokes or not

No fucking way, a website like ResetEra would never be worth that much money. They're so shitty, that I don't even want to watch their stream. It's a good thing that I was saved. If I had to guess I'd say there's some money coming into ResetEra, and in the future they're going to have a huge event like EVO or something, probably with some prize pool. They got big sponsors backing them, and at EVO they were getting a free stage, I'm sure they'll get some kind of prizes at their major event. If they ever do become that big, they're in for a lot of money.

I'd say ResetEra can be worth like 10,000$, maybe. And if they do get money, they'll probably blow it all up
What in the absolute world winding fuck are you talking about right now

Make sure to put the dollar sign in front of the monetary amount you suggest. What the hell are you on that was way too convoluted reading what you said.

I wonder what that hellhole's accountancy is like. Will the buyer inherit a hemmoraging site full of tax evasion and strange write offs?
No reason why it should be anything but above board. That's the genius of Cerium's operation. It didn't have to be a scam. The Era Clear subscribers were willing paypigs, the jannies were willing slaves.

lol imagine thinking the former owner of your containment site ever owed (or currently owes) you anything at all.

These have got to be the most easily deceived and griftable people on planet earth and i am a retard for not taking advantage of them.
Tell me about it. I seriously wish I could come up with a retarded name for a new forum to spin up and host to offer these dumb faggots a "safe haven" so I could do the same thing Cerium did. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I thought for a second I could successfully lure them in.

That's what's so abhorrent about this, how easily manipulated the troons are. Almost makes you want to start some kind of troon magnet website.....

In the press release the new owners do mention that the site's userbase has flatlined and they intend to reverse this.

As for the legal stuff, back when the site was started Cerium put the entire thing on pause so he could have his lawyers draw up LLC papers for the rest of the then-owners to sign before the site went live. Cerium was also wealthy before the site and for most of the four years was its only owner. I have to imagine he was having that handled for him much like he had the moderators handle the actual forum for him rather than doing anything himself but cashing the checks.

Why are they shocked? It was obvious from the start that the owner was in it for e-fame and money.

By the way, $4.5m is small potatoes when you considered how popular the site is, it's influence, and the size of it's community on and offsite. $4.5m would have been one of the lowest numbers offered if the guy just waited. He needed the money and he needed it yesterday.

If someone offered you 4.5 million for a tranny infested message board, why risk not getting 4.5 million?
