I said a few months back that neogaf was going to be sold. I. Surprised it was ree that was bought out, but I wouldn't be shocked to hear that they approached gaf first. It has, or had, the name and clout behind it.

Whoever this new ree owner are, if they play their cards right, they could just wipe gaf off of the internet

this is the part that makes me laugh uncontrollably at the moment.

all that rage against Cyberpunk almost exactly a year ago...and against Harry Potter...fury...tranny mental health deteriorating with it...admins and mods stepping down over all of it...so much chaos and turmoil in a wave of endless permabans over the tiniest of offenses...

...and all this emotion was so that in the end some chink can make off with 4.5 million via the ad revenue it brought while the people most affected in this insane asylum got...NOTHING. Meanwhile, as for the targets of their cancellations:

-THQ Nordic is still operating (in the same country that ReeeEra is now being owned no less!)
-so is CD Projekt, which regardless of its trashfire of a game release still made out like a bandit in terms of money, even with the lawsuits
-and JK Rowling is likely laughing her TERFy ass off in her endless Harry Potter wealth
