B-Dubs (suggesting that he knows exactly which users are being this hypocritical) making himself a target for questioning 'no bad tactics only bad targets'.
Of course, he's a fucking hypocrite for not only doing nothing about it, but for moderating in a way that actively encourages this behaviour. Also probably doesn't help that the mod team itself is definitely doing what he complains about from the posters. 'I'll point it out and these people will realise they've done wrong and be better.' You can't be that upset by it if you're in a position to do something about it but you only hope they'll change while you're actively rewarding them for doing what they do.
The woker the forum, the more offsite channels where cliques obsess over forum dramas and who they hate and want to get kicked out of their club. Simple fact. But they have to do it in private because they know what they're doing is wrong - they always get super-defensive about it, and at the hint of being exposed there's always someone who posts about what they're actually doing, but in a sarcastic, 'can you believe this conspiracy theory?' manner. 'Yes, there's a secret Discord where we all get together and discuss who we want to ban next, you're paranoid.' When that's exactly what they're doing, they're just not so blatant about it: one person will say '[X] is pulling their same shit again,' another will say, 'I saw that, but I didn't have the spoons to deal with their [insert type of bigotry they accuse everyone of] today,' and the rest will jump in to dogpile the target on the forums and mass-flag them to get their post, and eventually account, deleted.
So B-Dubs, extending a patience and hands-off approach he would never offer his ideological enemies, has decided to lightly scold, without naming names, the wokescolds who engage in KF-style behaviour, but in private where no-one can see. Behaviour that has been called 'ontologically evil' and 'stochastic terrorism' with absolutely no pushback from people like him. Reminds me of how they constantly go on about encroaching Nazism. But instead of Nazis being a bunch of shitposters in their own site on the internet, it's a bunch of people you recognise as authoritarian, hypocritical power-abusers, who behave just like the Nazis but in private, and you're in a position of influence and power to do something about it ... but you've decided to look the other way, pretend you've tried to stop them, and then let them get away with it because you're too cowardly, lazy and complacent to stop them.
Tl;dr: Mods on ResetEra are not just complicit, but actively engaging in the exact same things they attack us for. Worse, because they have allowed all sorts of incitement to violence - specific, targeted violence - to stay on their forums. Unlike a school principal announcing they know who the culprits are and things will go easier for them if they come forward, they actually do know who is to blame. But thinking about how they won't do anything about it reveals their own moral cowardice, and that's depressing. So better just to blame everyone else and rationalise your way back into being a good little Social Justice Warrior, because otherwise you might be the next target. And you've seen what they do to targets. You do it every day.
