I got banned for trying to call them out on that anti-Japanese bias. Oh well, it was mutually beneficial. Even if I wasn't a provisional member and would have gotten unbanned after some time, I would have gotten banned for arguing against the mods.

Neogaf discusses a Guardian article in which they score conferences based on diversity. And diversity is defined solely by being either female or black, literally no other races, ethnicities, or nationalities count.

Half the posters in the thread thought it was pretty silly, but there's no job too big for the mods!

Why the fuck does anyone even put up with that shithole? Other than by joining up on DickStrokePhil's forum, I can't imagine a shittier experience than cowering with fear before every post lest you say something even minutely out of line with these insane assholes. Where the fuck are these mods from, North Korea?

63 banned in one thread. I want to see their Alexa ranking from today compared to 6 months from now. There is absolutely no way they are pulling in new users fast enough to cover hemorrhages like this.

I wonder if there's some kind of mod-only subforum where Evilore will chew these people out for fucking with his ad revenue. I know SA has one and it's as juicy as you'd expect.

I joined originally because I was sick of the chaos of /v/. In the end it was just the other extreme.

Especially when you consider how long it takes to get approved and how they only approve educational emails or industry emails.

You'd think all of this complaining about bullshit would wear them down eventually. I would be miserable if I spent all my time complaining like this.

I've also noticed just how often they trot out the idea that the game industry is full of institutionalized racism without ever providing a shred of data to back it up.

Can only find metrics for the past three months, but worldwide it still holds a pretty respectable 2377 Alexa rank. In the US it's 792. It did decline somewhat, by 80 points though that's on the global scale. If someone can figure out how to look further, maybe we can see a sharper decline. In comparison, Kiwi Farms is at 64,466 (though it went up by 46,055 points) in the global scale, and is 16,226 on the US scale. However, Kiwi Farms has been around for much less time than NeoGAF.

Half of the people keep using the site because is the communities and the other half probably doesn't realize how shitty has become as they avoid SJW stuff, GAF echo chamber is big enough that it still keeps the idea that Alison Rapp was not a whore.

Most users banned in the guardian thread probably didn't expect that the mods were deluded enough to believe that assigning a score to press conferences by "diversity" was not the most stupid idea ever. How times change.

Huge swaths of gaf never post outside the community forums. Half of the people that post in the Destiny or Halo or Mass Effect community threads (for example) will even state that they don't read the gaming or off-topic forums.

That leaves the retards posting everywhere else, and causes the general stupidity that is neogaf.

The desperate need to virtue signal mixed with passive aggressiveness is off the charts on that one. A prime example of the evergoing neogafian dance of death, where drone's attempt to rise in social hierarchy may be at any time be cut short by the ire of a capricious mod. I hope some day anthropologists will find NeoGAF and decipher the complicated social structures and mating rituals of gaffers for us.
