Reviewers actually leisurely completing the game and giving a good thoughtful review is possible, there's people on the internet who do it. But the bulk of game journalists can't do it because their only value is in being FIRST and nobody is going to go to IGN or whatever other faggot site to read what they say about a game later because it's garbage. People will check their review scores and maybe read some of the summaries but unless the journalist cultivates their own personality so you want to know what the person is saying about a game, nobody gives a shit about your review.
Again, there's people like this, Tom Chick and Jeff Gerstmann are a couple "famous" names, Dunkey basically does the same thing, etc. But this isn't asking for "respect" for game journalists, it's asking for a fundamental reworking of the entire model to speak to a different audience when there's people who clearly value the FIRST DAY reviews so those will always exist.
Just for clarification, these posts are about Starfield and the journalists have like 3 weeks to play it before it comes out.
