Several of their mods were deeply involved in the Xbox Ambassador program, and their shielding for Microsoft over the last few years has been utterly insane, even banning users who were opposed to, or even mildly concerned about, the Microsoft buyout of Activision.

It has actually been abundantly obvious which platform holder they favor by looking at how they moderate Xbox and comparison threads.

I wonder how many people on that site got peaked by Echoes and are just remaining silent. GalacticSpecter wasn't a troll account, he had 6.5k posts since 2017. An old head, someone who presumably knew where he was, pointed this out. The clique circled the wagons and the nonbeliever was cast out, but there's a little questioning of the level of inclusiveness that the site has been fostering. I wouldn't be surprised to see people in the future try to probe the line of where they can gesture faintly in the direction of peculiar behavior by The Anointed Ones of the forum.

I'd say he's half right - Starship Troopers is a terrible satire of fascism. All of the satirized elements - propaganda, militarism, limited franchise - existed before fascism, in societies of various types. The fascist part basically just ends up being Doogie Howser's SS costume. It's a decent satire of militarism and of goofy gung-ho military movies, with the platonic ideal of the underacheiver who finds his purpose as an aphorism-spouting hardass who was forged in deadly training and honed under the command of psychopathically ruthless leaders (even if they had to completely re-learn the concept of combined arms long into the era of easy interstellar travel.)

Academic success at a high school level is more about having good memory/recall combined with a capacity/willingness to follow instructions. I guess that requires intelligence of a sort, but it's not something that engages higher order thinking very much.

Shitlibs come across as stupid, but I think there's more to it than just a general lack of cognitive ability. This 4chan post touches on it.

They can't independently reason things through and come to their own conclusions. Because their entire worldview presupposes certain conclusions. And they have trained themselves out of their ability to engage in cognitive processes that lead to conclusions they don't like. Instead, they filter everything through a fairly rigid set of presuppositions to make sure that everything confirms what they already believe to be true. I think everyone does this to a certain extent, it's a flaw of human psychology, but the modern left does it to a degree usually only seen in fairly insular cults. I'm not sure exactly when this started, I think the Obama presidency broke the brains of a lot of the left because Obama didn't cause the changes they expected, but they couldn't bring themselves to admit that Obama wasn't the great savior they thought he was, so they started escaping to world of imagination instead where everything worked the way they wanted the world to work.
